Flowing into Friday ~04/30/10

Happy Friday and welcome to the last day of April. For better or worse this month is done, stick a fork in it, poke it with a stick, highlight it in your journal its over in less than 18 hours from now.

May the 5th month of the year, the promise of growing flowers and gardens to plan and plant.

May great holidays like Mothers Day a date to plan and share with our Mom's or to take the time to tribute this day to the Mothers that have passed on. They are worth every hour of this day.

A Long List of Holidays for May 2010

A great list huh, National Asparagus Month sounds good to me!

So as we flow into the last day of April and the weekend we should plan our month of May.

Plan to share love, spread joy. Plan to spread smiles and sandwich them with hugs to the ones we love.

Hugs the best gift you can give the one you love. A hug sends a message of unity, a message of I am here for you. Never forget the power of a hug with your children, your loved one or a very dear friend.

"Be like a flower and turn your face to the sun."

- Kahlil Gibran

Not a bad way to end the month of April and start a new in May.

"I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose

I would always greet it in a garden."

- Ruth Stout

Enjoy your Friday and your last day of April.

Share that gift of love you hold deep in your heart.

Till next time share that smile

and spread them around.

A Thought on Thursday ~ 04/29/10

Happy Thursday everyone and yes the month of May is almost here. The April showers and snow in some areas of New England has come and gone and the warming effect of May is right around the corner.

May has special meaning for me. My son and daughter were both born in the month of May.

Tori on the 15th and Troy Daniel on the 31st.

Tori turns 16 this year wow how the time has flown.

Troy turns 13 and equally he has grown rapidly. I love them both dearly.

Children on of the most precious gifts and how time flies by for all of us. Troy lives in Houston with my ex wife and it has been hard to watch him grow with out me. He knows my love is strong for him and neither of us knows what future holds for either of us. But I know he is very smart, both in the books and life. He is a great kid.

Tori lives here with me and she is also very smart, she also is very compassionate and has a heart of gold. She is a great friend to her close friends and always kind to others. She loves her music and her Ipod.

Both great kids.

We all have watched our children grow, some much older of course with kids of their own.

They live our nest, travel some far away to settle and build a nest of their own. We love them as if they were still a small child but they have grown and settled into a new life.

We still can turn back the tapes in our mind, remember the smiles, the laughter and the joy. They brought some tears to our eyes, and I am sure like my own two they brought some scares as well. Both have had their shares of broken bones and stitches.

Life goes on and so do they. With in our hearts and minds the memories will always stay and warm us. How time flies by.

So today as the month of April closes and soon passes us by, take time to remember and enjoy the moments of parenting. Not all parenting is easy of course but all has its rewards.

Some parenting is painful of course but we know that our child and their happiness is what matters the most. Even when we are apart from our children whether they are close by or far away our love and their love for us remains. As they grow older as we do that becomes more apparent to them and the greatest gift in the world comes with the words 'How did you do it?' or the simple words 'Thank you'.

Nothing in life that is worth while is easy. Thats the way it always goes easy is boring and mundane, we thing we want easy but in reality we never do.

Till next time......smile and share that smile

with the ones you love.

A Wish on Wednesday ~ 04/28/10

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to another great day, 86,400 seconds of joy, happiness, challenges sure but face them with a smile. Face each day as a gift, a gift your ready to remove the gift wrapping from to see whats inside.

We all have that ability you know, the ability to start each day with quiet meditation, prayer and a simple affirmation like some of these:

List Of Positive Daily Affirmations

The article that I found gives a great list and some positive ideas about how to start to focus on a more positive thought than the constant negative states that we can fall into with out even knowing.

So my wish for you today is this:

That you take the time to place your self in a still quiet place each morning.

You take that time no matter how brief to meditate and/or pray.

You use some positive affirmations like the few found above to more actively flow good thoughts and ideas into your inner beliefs.

Ok, yeah your right thats three wishes, but hey your worth it! We all are worth three wishes. So take the time to focus on how you start your day. 86,400 seconds and yes its running just as fast for me as it does for you. Make the most of it.

A couple of quotes to ponder today, just don't spend to much time on this alone:

But what minutes! Count them by sensation, and not by calendars, and each moment is a day. ~Benjamin Disraeli

~~~~~~~~~~~
Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent.
Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. ~Carl Sandburg
So enjoy today, enjoy your moments and
have a great Wednesday.
Till next time.....Smile and share one with another, and another.
Giving Thanks on Tuesday ~ 04/27/10
Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to another day that I hope reminds you to take the time to add and entry to your gratitude journal or start a journal.
The purpose of the journal is to record your daily or weekly reports or moments that give you gratitude.
It should not become a chore or a burden it should flow and help to enhance your life and remain as a record of how your life is evolving with a sense of purpose and appreciation.
One of my favorite quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night
,For health and food, for love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends.”
~~~~~~~~~

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present

and not giving it.” -William Arthur Ward

These two quotes I hope you meditate on today and take to heart that life has many blessings. Growing up I was always taught to ask God in our prayers to add things into our life, prayer requests. I have no doubt that prayer works and yes it is important to pray for those who are needy, sick and afflicted and pray for mercy. However I think for every prayer request that we send out to God we should also give much more attention or quantitative importance to giving thanks and thanking God for the many blessings that have been bestowed on us. Prayer has many powers and when we pray we are taught that God listens to each one.

How great it must be to hear his children give thanks and appreciation.

So today, take the time to start a life of gratitude. Take time to start a quiet time to pray and give thanks to the heavens.

I leave you with this quote:

The value of consistent prayer is not that He will hear us, but

that we will hear Him. ~William McGill

Till next time.....Smile and share your gratitude.

Gratitude from the heart.

Gratitude for your blessings.

Gratitude for dreams yet to be dreamed.

Gratitude that we dream.

Monday Morning Wisdom ~ 04/26/10

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the last Monday in April.

I hope you enjoy the week ahead. I hope you are filled with joy and energy, positive energy that provides you a fullness.

Smiles across many miles. Thats what I try to send every day. I enjoy spreading them.

It is a pleasure sharing these with you. I enjoy the visits to my Gather posts and stop by and visit at Make ME Smile Online and if you are not already stop by at my Facebook.

Positive Energy

We all understand positive thoughts but what is a positive energy. The mind provides direction and action from you thoughts or your direction.

The mind is the decisive factor in your life, but who decides for the mind?

So the 'I' the 'You' decides what direction your going in. That still and silent voice that we often don't quite listen to and push along anyway when that voice in our head, the self talk generator tells us to slow down, maybe this is not right. We often neglect that 'intuition' and move along anyway.

Mothers always seem to have that deep rooted feeling when something is just not right. Also many times the family pets can sense something before we do.

We all need to slow down, deep meditative thoughts that direct and show us a sense of direction and energy we should take with us in our travels.

You can close the windows and darken your room, and you can open the windows and let light in. It is a matter of choice. Your mind is your room.

Do you darken it or do you fill it with light?

How do you walk through the day? Let in the light of a higher power, start your day with prayer, start with the sense of power that exists all around us. The trees, the flowers, the ground, the pathway we are about to take all has energy, power, divine vibration if you will.

Often in people we call this energy 'Karma' we get a sense many times if a person is giving off a positive energy or a negative energy just by standing next to them. Yes body language can send a message to you about another but it really is more than that.

A smile and a friendly comment can change the vibration in some if not many. Try it the next time you sense a tension from another.

Positive thinking evokes more energy, more initiative and more happiness.

So today think with a sense of I can or I will not with the words I can't or I might. Think with resolution and focus on the source inside yourself that always tries to direct you, guide you down life's highways. Prayer is a very important part of my morning. Not to just ask for things but to give thanks and ask for direction. We all have so very much to thank God for. The feet we walk on, the mind we think with the heart that we feel with.

Today enjoy your daily guidance system, be in tune with the energy with in.

Till next time .... take the time to smile

and  shine from within.

Some Thoughts on a Sunday ~ 04/25/10

Happy Sunday everyone, hope your weekend has been very special, hope your spending time with loved ones, shareing smiles with anyone and making a difference for everyone.

Today is the last Sunday in April and the April showers are sure to bring some May flowers as the old saying goes. May should be much warmer, more opportunity to plant your garden and to plant smiles on the faces of those who see that garden.

Many of us will plant our flowers close to the front of our house so that others can see the beauty in what grows out of our efforts.

We want to brighten up the world for ourselves with that effort and maybe even share it with others as they walk on by.

What do we plant with our words and deeds?

Plant kindness and gather love

~author unknown

~~~~~~
“Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.”
~Napoleon Hill
So many times we speak first and think about it later. Sometimes our words can hurt others and sadly sometimes with little intention they hurt us even more. We can prevent this by planting seeds in our mind with greater planning and care. Put simply the mind is a garden that harvests what we allow to grow.
What are you growing in your mind?
The very nature of humanity is to make mistakes, we have free will after all and we will fail often in our life, not on purpose mind you but it happens. The fact of the matter is we should be able to learn from those mistakes, try to be less harsh on ourselves and more forgiving and proactive so as not to make that mistake again.
When you plant, you prepare the soil, you add nutrients as needed, and place the seed within, cover with care, water accordingly and watch as the seed takes root and grows. We remove the weeds that like to choke off its existence so that it can grow and bloom and add beauty to our world.
The mind is the same. We prepare our soul, sleep, eat properly get our needed rest.
We pray and mediate to add the nutrients. Place positive thoughts and kind words within and add healthy doses of gratitude to firmly cover those seeds of thought.
We should repeat the step above often so as to watch what the mind offers from those efforts and gently remove any weeds of doubt, hurt, anger, and regret so they don't choke off its existence so that our thoughts and actions from those thoughts can bloom, and blossom to add beauty to the world.
Our world and the world of others.
We are the creators of our results. The seeds that we plant in our mind can either grow more weeds for ourselves which in turn allows our mind to become over run with, or they can produce magic for the lives of others who enjoy the results of care.
The effort we place in the early stages of planting will effect the results our friends, our family and our loved ones can enjoy.
The world, our world needs to take better care in planting seeds of anger, hate, bitterness and allow more of the fruits of joy, love, empathy and compassion to come forth from their efforts.
So take the time this Sunday to prepare your garden for planting not just the planting of the ground and soil out and about your home, but the garden of your mind.
Take great care to sow your thoughts accordingly because we all will reap in the results that you sow.
Till next time.......Smile and take
great care with week ahead.
Saturday Morning Reflection ~ 04/24/10
Good day everyone and Happy Saturday to you all! Everyday is a happy day as I guess you understand by now after reading these submissions of mine. Each and every post starts off with Happy and ends with Till next time....Smile. I believe each person we meet we should start off their day or at the very least with a impression that its ok to be happy. Each person as we let them go should know that good bye is not forever just 'Till next time...'
Send them off with a smile, send them off feeling better than they came. That is my goal with anyone who takes time to read my posts. I have been writing on Gather since April 9, 2009 and I feel a strong sense of community, I feel very welcome and I am grateful for your comments, emails and following/friendships at Facebook.
You make me smile! Thank you.
Saturday Morning reflection is taking a post from the past year and sharing it again, maybe stirring some thoughts and meditations. I hope you enjoy them. I hope you enjoy your Saturday and have a smile the whole weekend through. This post is from Oct. 10, 2009 I hope you enjoy it once again.
Saturday Morning Reflection
from Saturday Oct. 10, 2009
Yes! It is Saturday! Hope everyone has a great day and a better weekend! Spend some time with those who love you and look forward to your company this weekend! That is the best gift in the world to have love, to be loved and to have someone that looks forward to your company.
Cherish that, have gratitude towards that fore that is a gift.
I was listening yesterday to Robert Fulghum audio book, 'All I Really needed to know I learned in Kindergarten'. So I wanted to share 3 guotes from his book. I hope you enjoy and then I will share a post that I wrote back in April. I had very few views so I wanted to share it.
So with my Sushi at my left and Irish Coffee to my right here are those quotes:
And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world it is best to hold hands and stick together.
~ * ~
Be aware of wonder. Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
~ * ~
Sticks and stones will break our bones, but words will break our hearts.
What if?
Any morning can make me smile, a coffee in one hand and the morning paper in front of you.
It is a fact that more and more people are getting their news from other sources, tv, radio and yes the Internet. Some of these are just quicker to get through. Some newspaper organizations are going with online content only. The paper is falling away in popularity.
Sunday is different for most I think. The comic's section, the sports (Go Pitt) and yes the coupons that somehow make the Sunday edition worth the cost of the paper. You can save a little with those coupons.
Coffee always tastes better on Sunday too. You drink it at a slower pace I think. Sunday is a slower paced day and so this brings me to our latest message.
Make me smile online is a place on the web that I hope you find is a place to not only read or see something to smile about, but also to make you think.
Every so often I want to make you think as well as smile.
To ponder how you can not only make your day happier but the next person's a little better.
Every blog entry I will end it with a practical way to make another person smile.
Today's - - Number 200 : Hold the door open for someone with a smile!
Most of us always do it but sometimes in a hurry we just push our way through. I know we live a busy life, always on the go. Cell phones ringing, emails, texting and always something on the to do list.
Put this there, go here , you have an appointment, errands to do and on and on it goes. LIFE!
But always know that we all have the same number of seconds in our minutes, hours in our days and weeks in the month as your neighbor.
So take the time to do something nice for someone the next time you are at that store front door. Take the extra second and let someone else go first and don't forget the smile. You just might make someone's day
Till then enjoy your day and smile! :)
Flowing into Friday ~04/23/10
Happy Friday everyone and welcome to Friday I hope this day is a great one for you. Friday the day where the work week ends for most and the weekend plans are finalized.
Some times the best plans are no plans just allowing the time to happen as long as it is spent with those that you love and those who love you.
Today as you go through the day take the time to enjoy each moment, savor the anticipation of the time this weekend brings to reenergize and regroup that often we don't think to take the time to do through the week.
“The human individual lives usually far within his limits; he possesses powers of various sorts which he habitually fails to use. He energizes below his maximum, and he behaves below his optimum. . . . it is only an inveterate habit -- the habit of inferiority to our full self.” William James quote
How often we rush through the week, we are pushed and pulled, handle tasks, drive here and go there. We often feel overwhelmed at times with the demands put upon us. Simply put:
Life Happens
However to understand the quote by William James that I posted above we have to also reenergize ourselves on demand as well. Take the time to pray each day. Take the time to give thanks for what we have and be grateful that we have the wisdom to acknowledge it.
Your ability to be taken from 0 to 100 through the week is often acknowledged and necessary by the demands placed upon you. But the ability to slow down, downshifting through your gears, slowly, peacefully with grace and love is maybe more important.
Relax and allow life to happen a little slower
If life happens at such a frenzied pace then we also need to take the time to get back to ourselves from time to time. Take a long walk down the path of mellowness. Take time to smell the flowers and fresh morning dew along the way. Listen to the morning birds and feel the ground under your feet. Touch nature, touch the fresh air with your face. Enjoy life, enjoy the gifts that God has placed before our feet.
Don't ever neglect the power of nature to recharge.
Take time to enjoy life, take time to share love, take time to power down and enjoy spending energy on you.
We need quiet time to examine our lives openly and honestly. . . spending quiet time alone gives your mind an opportunity to renew itself and create order.
~Susan L Taylor
Take time to renew you today.
Till next time.....Smile and enjoy your Friday Flow
A Thought on Thursday ~ 04/22/10
Happy Thursday everyone and yes another day to be aware and acknowledge what we are grateful for. The greatest thing about gratitude is that it lies within each others heart and mind, just how much is dependent how much YOU allow yourself to acknowledge and accept.
So many times we allow others do dictate how we feel. We watch the news we accept and anger or sorrow into our lives. We listen to others who may be on a vicious cycle of negative thinking or negative actions and we become part of their world sometimes with out knowing.
We watch television programs which glorify or dramatize values that we don't agree with and we get angry or disappointed with the shows we watch and have no concrete way to change anything but ourselves.
I am not saying that other emotions don't serve a purpose in our life. They do it is good to show a bit of resolve over something, or shed a tear that appears when something touches us.
All emotions are normal to feel but when a emotion begins to dominate in our life, and tear the fiber of our happiness longer than expected we then become a ship without a sail in a storm.
We drift and become overwhelmed with the rising storms.
The way to combat all of this of course is through up fitting your ship (heart and mind) with stronger navigational tools. Better maps, sails, a small motor.
Better maps= goals written out, a gratitude journal which has specific items which we acknowledge that we are grateful for.
Sails= anything with inspirational effects on your spirit, great music, a touching video or a great book. Prayer and faith are two very important ingredients to help with our direction and focus they ground us and help to steer our soul.
A Small Motor= our fuel, our food and what and how we eat. When we sleep and for how long all help our mood, spirit and ability to steer through rough times. The old saying we are what we eat, or rolling out on the wrong side of bed is almost always when we are following poor diet choices or sleep habits.
We all have choices we make each day and those choices flow down a river of life. Do the choices you make allow you proper control or do they send you drifting out of control.
Do you acknowledge what your grateful for in life or do you search for something that you already have.
Questions only you can answer and become aware of through thought and mediation.
The power of the question.
You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers.
You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions.
~NAGUIB MAHFOUZ
Become wise about yourself, ask those questions of How and What if?
Become part of the solution in life
not part of the problems.
Make a difference, share a smile or 2 or 3 or 4. They are free to give and the payback is often better than the investment.
Till next time......Smile and ask the question
What if I lived with more gratitude in my life?
A Wish on Wednesday ~ 04/21/10
Happy Wednesday everyone and I wish today that you always find yourself wearing a smile, heart filled with joy and compassion, mind filled with positive thoughts of your potential.
The power of a simple smile can do so much for you and another.
Lighten a burden.
Enrich the heart.
Empower a spirit to feel so much better.
Just a few things but if only one is touched then was it worth it?
Take the time today to smile, share your smile with a complete stranger and watch the transformation just for that split second. (be careful, they just may smile back).
A smile confuses an approaching frown. ~Author Unknown
So my Wednesday Wish is this, wear a smile today.
Understand that your smile can not only have a power to change another persons spirit,
it can change your own.
Enjoy the power that you have been given to enjoy life, and be happy with what you
have been given in life.
If you have nothing but your smile to give
is that truly enough? Maybe so.....
Till next time.....enjoy this video and
always smile back at the world.
Giving Thanks on Tuesday ~ 04/20/10
Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to another day devoted to the word Gratitude.
Gratitude is something we carry inside of us the deeper the river runs the stronger the current.
Gratitude is the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.
Broken down further to be grateful is to have a warm or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received.
A few quotes on the topic for today:
"He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has." - Epictetus
~~~~~~~~~~~

"Gratitude is a vaccine, an antitoxin, and an antiseptic"

- John Henry Jowett

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.”
-Albert Schweitzer
So take the time to start a gratitude journal, take a moment each morning to start a habit of taking
time to pray and give thanks.
Send out into the world your expression of gratitude with a deep breath from your porch or deck, a sigh of relief that yes today is another day.
You are alive. You have been given
the gift of another day.
The vision to breathe in another
precious breath of air.
The sense of gratitude to be loved,
cared for and smiled upon.
Everyday the world smiles when you smile back.
Everyday the world smiles with
you when you smile with it.
Enjoy the day!
Enjoy your moments of gratitude.
Till next time .... Smile and start or continue
your path of gratitude.
Monday Morning Wisdom ~ 04/19/10
Happy Monday everyone and welcome to another week. Did not get to post anything yesterday and I know that is very rare indeed, but today is a new day filled with new possibilities for all. I hope you enjoy today's message as much as I enjoyed typing it out.
Often in life we get that second chance. We get that special moment that once slipped through our finger tips and once again becomes real once again.
When these moments come of course you test them, make sure that you don't loose grip once more. But once you know what you know, you find a way to ensure success the second time around.
Whether it be an old friend, a new job, renewed health grasp on to its rebirth and don't loose grip the second time around.
We all have the same amount of time in the day, week, month and year.
Use your time to its fullest. Make every second count. Share and care and don't let others cynical life style or attitude change your heart or spirit. Take time to live, to enjoy what has been placed at your door step once again. Life is meant to be lived and the spirit and soul is meant to share.
Share life, share your joy!
“Hope is the most exciting thing in life and if you honestly believe that love is out there, it will come. And even if it doesn't come straight away there is still that chance all through your life that it will.”
Josh Hartnett quotes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.” ~ Author unknown

It is the my deepest hope that you walk through life with eyes wide open. Looking for that rare bolt of lightening that once it hits you find its true meaning.

Till next time.....Share a smile, make a difference and learn to live with true joy!

Saturday Morning Reflection ~ 04/17/10

Happy Saturday everyone I hope your Saturday has been a great day thus far. I have to say the last few days have been great here however I could not post because of the storm that passed thru the Western Pa. region yesterday afternoon. We lost power here for 10 hours or so and believe me not being able to post this morning was a bit sad. However storms do come and go and the nice thing about a storm it does pass.

Storms in life never last forever.

Often in life we have trouble shaking a bad event. Maybe the passing of a loved one, or a friend moving away or just a bad piece of news that seems to just put a burden on our shoulders and heart. The storm seems to last and last in our mist.

We can look at the storm in a couple ways.

First we can look at it as an opportunity for us to strengthen our character. Character can be built by tough times. It can only be built upon, if we focus on the possibilities of a path well taken and lessons learned and form an even greater path and journey.

Second we can focus on the good that has happened before the storm to give us strength as we pass through it. The past success we have had, the great memories we have created can be a strong rope that we can pull ourselves through even the toughest of storms.

The choice is really ours. Live with fear and panic, or live with hope and decisiveness. We must choose to be strong. To ride out the storm.

“In our lives there is bound to come some pain, surely as there are storms and falling rain; just believe that the one who holds the storms will bring the sun.”

~ Author Unknown

True there will be storms, and storms can be a cleansing of the spirit.

Storms are sometime necessary to clear out the debris that can build in our lives.

Old branches fall away, new limbs are made stronger by the force of a storm.

Its our path that sometimes needs to be

directed by a strong storm.

The one constant is storms never last.

But a strong character will always remain.

Till next time.........Smile and stay strong

your storm may just be over!

Flowing into Friday ~ 04/16/10

Happy Friday everyone! A great day no that would take something away from it all. Awesome would make a more accurate description. So what really makes a day awesome over great? Yeah, your perception, the direction that you give to your mind that little feeling that flows from your heart to your mind. We all can make that perception a reality. So it your turn now. Start your day with the simple message, 'this day is awesome' then make it that way. One moment, one feeling at a time.

Perception is your reality.

Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places

where other people see nothing. ~ Camille Pissaro

How wonderful the gift to be the people in that quote by Camille. To see beauty in humble places. To have the perception to see deeper than just what is on the surface.

To take ones heart and place it at the foot of nothing and and see the everything in it.

That truly is what living is all about. To see the possibility in everything. To enjoy anything just by perception of how great it is and how awesome it can be. Now that is a blessing to be grateful for.

This Friday, take a closer look at that person next to you that you call your partner. Your friend and really understand the value that they give to your life.

A value that is percieved by the mind and heart and transformed into your reality.

The value of compassion can not be over emphasized.

Anyone can criticize. It takes a true believer to be compassionate.

No greater burden can be borne by an individual

than to know no one cares or understands.

~ Arthur H. Stainback

Everything has value, the value that you give through deep thought and percpetion is not the value that really that really exists it is just the value that exists within you. The true is value of another is much greater.

A powerful thought don't you think.

Till next time.....Smile and make a difference today.

A Thought on Thursday ~ 04/15/10

Happy Thursday everyone! Welcome to a great day filled with joy, happiness and smiles to give to one another. We of course create our joy and happiness but often times joy and happiness come to us, with randomness. Those moments we cherish because we did not find that moment they found us.

That smile from another, the kind word, the loving touch unexpected. They make a difference not just to the giver but those who receive.

The moment that changes everything and provides a smile, a gentle reminder that kind and gentle people in the world.

I hope you find that moment today. I hope you create that moment for someone else.

A quote for you.......

“The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us.”

~ Ashley Montagu quote

~~~~~~~~~~~
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away”
So today understand the power of the moment. The moment of joy, a simple smile given or received at random. The wave of excitement you had at that first unexpected touch of random and unexplainable joy that came across you. You had been blessed and to remember those moments, to reply them over and over again is perhaps the best ability we have been given.
This day, and everyday holds magic, magic that you can create by a simple smile or something more. Magic that can be sent your way with the same.
So have a great day, enjoy and take a chance on sharing that smile, that kind word. Make that phone call or take the time just open your heart to the magic that awaits you.
Till next time.....Smile and share that smile with another.
A Wish on Wednesday ~ 04/14/10
Happy Wednesday everyone! To wish you all much joy and happiness that is my wish today.
Many times in life we wish for the wrong things, for example to wish the day was over, wish someone ill will, wish that someone would just listen and the list goes on and on.
Why? Why wish thoughts that hinder, or replace positive energy that we all desire with ever growing negative energy. Very contradicting indeed. We should always focus our energy like a well controlled laser beam. In fact a laser beam or a welders torch that is uncontrolled can cause much damage, so can our thoughts.
A quote here that I admire and think upon often:
Our prime purpose in this life is to
help others.
And if you can't help them, at least
don't hurt them.
Dalai Lama
How true this thought is, and I want to include our thoughts in this.
Our prime purpose of positive thoughts is to help ourselves and those we love, and if we can't help ourselves at the very least we should not hurt ourself and others with negative wishes and negative thoughts.
So today, listen to what you wish for. Stop and rephrase those thoughts and self talk.
To wish for something that can be harmful instead of wishing for love, harmony and peace is like wishing ill will upon your self.
Why would you really want that? Stop taking shots of negative thoughts at yourself and others. Take shots of possibility, shots of living your dreams. Live a life of wonder.
Life has wonder, joy and happiness for everyone. It exists in abundance. Just like water, oxygen and daylight. It always is there with little lack for anyone. You just need to reach out and enjoy your share.
Dream big! Live a life of smiles! Live a life of positive energy and leave any negative thoughts at the door. Have a great Wednesday.
Till next time....Smile and share that positive wishes with another.
Take time to make a difference.
With your self and others.
Giving Thanks on Tuesday ~ 04/13/10
Good day everyone and happy Tuesday to you all. Tuesday I set aside purposely and with intention to give thanks to the things in my life that I have gratitude for. My journal entry and my prayers are filled not with requests for the wanted but thanks for the things already had.
Today my gratitude quote that I hope you enjoy and mediate on:
To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant,
to enact gratitude is generous and noble,
but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.
~JOHANNES A. GAERTNER:
True words written and shared well.
We have a lot to be grateful for. So much in fact that we should never have trouble living in the state of gratitude.
I am grateful for my son and daughter who both have so many great qualities. Qualities like compassion, love, kindness to nature and animals. True empathy to another who is in need.
What great qualities for a 15 and 13 year old.
I am grateful for my spirit of belief that the past does not equate to the future. The past is stories already told and over and done with. The future is yet to be unfolded and I help to unfurl it.
We all help to unfurl and lay out our future.
We all share in the responsibility of our future. The way we look out and believe that this will be enough.... this will be better than yesterday, it helps to lay out our future appreciation.
Yesterday in my comments Steph-in-NE .....Her son leaves for the Army today. He is then deployed in 21 days to Afghanistan. Our thoughts, our prayers and our pride goes with him.
To any mother out there with a child in the military. This poem I found is for you.
My Soldier's Mom
by Roger J. Robicheau
Dedicated to Moms of our military...
My child, you glow in uniform In pride I live, my heart so warm
I have such precious thoughts cascade Some old, some new, not one will fade
How hard that day we said good-bye The joy, the pain, etched in my eye
You left to serve our Country well My perfect one, my tears did swell
No better soldier could there be For in my love, that’s all I see
Oh how I pray for you each day Be safe, be well, God guide your way
I keep your Home in wait with me Your Mom will guard it faithfully
How great the day when you’ll return We’ll talk and talk, night-lights to burn
My Soldier’s Mom, is who I am While you do proud, for Uncle Sam
©2002 Roger J. Robicheau
Gods Speed to you all! A mothers love is the best, her pride, her care and regard for a child raised from so tiny to someone who stands so very tall for a nation.
Till next time.........Smile and love one another
and always share your gratitude.
Monday Morning Wisdom ~ 04/12/10
Good Morning and Happy Monday to you all. I hope this week brings you extreme amounts of joy and happiness. It all starts with that expectation, an expectation that this week will be filled with smiles, unlimited opportunity to make a difference in not only your own life but the lives of others.
“Time is swift, it races by; Opportunities are born and die... Still you wait and will not try - A bird with wings who dares not rise and fly.” ~ A.A. Milne
~~~~~~~~~

“To expect defeat is nine-tenths of defeat itself.”

~ Henry Louis Mencken

These two quotes tell the story of so many people who run the race of life trying to tip toe through instead of walking boldly.

We all are given the same amount of time. Time in the day, time in the week, time in the month and year. We live and learn only by understanding that failure is not a set back, you just learned an experience.

Your life is one of richness not of monetary value maybe, but one of resources that can be shaped and molded to give the outcome you really want. But we need to seize the day, take hold of our reins and walk with purpose. Walk through the day with your head held high, a smile on your face and joy in your heart.

Life happens if your filled with joy or filled with saddness.

Life happens if you plan your day or your day plans you.

It really is your choice, your decision can be a indecisive. But why choose to no choose.

Why choose to not smell the flowers that lay before you.

Dance in the rain that falls around you, you will dry off and you just may have fun along the way.

Smile not just on your face but smile from your heart. We/You make all the difference.

Till next time.....Smile and live with purpose and passion this week!

Some Thoughts on a Sunday ~ 04/11/10

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to that great day that we can relax and enjoy. Mediate and pray, dream and plan our week of smiles.

Sunday is a great day to share, and plan with family. Take time each Sunday to reflect and project your values and sense of gratitude to the ones you love and care about.

That is really what life comes down to projection of future values and gratitude sent out into the world.

The mark you can make with that simple step.

So today I wanted to just for a few minutes share with you my take on the media and perhaps a take on the recent long drawn out drama of Tiger Woods and the much published drama and affair that the media just placed a strangle hold on and continues to do so.

Morally we all understand the ramifications of what he did. We would not want that done to us and we all pretty much get that.

But when does the right to his family and right to privacy start and end. When does the given right that we all should have control of get to be returned to him?

Yes, new like Tigers sells, and not only does it sell well we in our own sense contribute to it because we all buy into it.

We love it, how sad huh? We use countless about of energy and brain cells wondering what is going to happen next. With no control what so ever. Its not like we get to vote. Its not like we should have a right to vote on what happens with Tiger and his family.

We should understand that the man is a great golfer. He has brought thousands into the game of golf because he did and does write and rewrite the history of golf in todays age.

Be thankful for that. We are watching greatness and learn how to behave to get to that level in the game. Hard work and practice.

Now, given all of that we also get to see the fall of Tiger in his personal life, and I for one hope that he does get the chance to rebuild.

Have we all not fallen in one area of our life and rebuilt it from the bottom up.

Did we not deserve that opportunity? How can you not answer yes to that?

Whether or not Tigers wife, Elin stays or goes is really none of our business. If she goes then we should understand and support her and if she watches and learns to trust again we should understand and support that decision.

Plain and Simple let go and let God!

Thats my take and I hope you enjoy the Master's today and watch a little history, win or lose Tiger will make his mark and hopefully he can go on with his life after the last bright light changes its angle.

Till next time......Smile and share a smile with another!

Saturday Morning Reflection ~ 04/10/10

Happy Saturday everyone, I hope your weekend is filled with joy and happiness. Saturday is always a time to share and make moments with those you love. So enjoy your day and make some memories.

Saturday is a day that I like to find a post a from last year and share it with you. I do want to reflect on the past weeks posts. I shared with you about how we can start to listen to our heart and help a hurting world. One person at a time.

Focus ~ Have a heart of service ~ look at the Big Picture ~

Understand our Values of the heart

When we take inventory of what we can do to brighten our day and the day of another we will start to focus on possibilities not problems.

When we open our heart the ideal of helping another less fortunate we often forget how we have just helped ourselves.

Enjoy the moments in life that come your way and don't forget if your in a hard time right now. This storm shall pass.

Faith, Hope and Love but the greatest of these is love. Don't ever forget to love yourself.

The post from last year:

Kindness to self from June 23, 2009

How often are you kind, no not to others but to yourself?

To understand how to deal with others we first must understand how to deal with our own emotions and actions to ourself.

Often, we put the best of us for others but forget to take care of our inner self.

A quote shared here.....

There are at least two kinds of cowards. One kind always lives with himself, afraid to face the world. The other kind lives with the world, afraid to face himself. ~Roscoe Snowden

and another...

At this very moment, you may be saying to yourself that you have any number of admirable qualities. You are a loyal friend, a caring person, someone who is smart, dependable, fun to be around. That's wonderful, and I'm happy for you, but let me ask you this: are you being any of those things to yourself?

~Phillip C. McGraw, The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom, 2003

You see the key here is to have that inner love for yourself so you the vessel that God has planted on this earth can be shared with others. Is your vessel empty ? Our you feeling discouraged?

So here are some action points:

Action 1 ---> List what you love about yourself, what are you about and after you list this out take time to apply them to yourself. Apply your love in generous amounts to you!

Action 2 ---> What are you grateful for? What are you most happy that you have in your life? List them, share them with yourself on a daily basis. Gratitude is our most precious gift to ourself.

Action 3 ---> Take time each morning to Pray, to search and to meditate on what God wants for you. What is purpose for you? Yes you maybe a father, a mother, a wife, a husband but the first thing you are is vessel, designed by God and placed upon this earth to be filled, not with anything but love and goodness.

Action 4 ---> Look in the mirror and say to yourself positive and inspiring statements. How great you look! How sweet of a person you are! How great it is to be part of today! Give yourself that encouragement that you so richly deserve.

If you do these simple things, once, twice a day. Say in the morning and at night. How much time will it take? 5 minutes in all? 10 minutes? What if you did these things and they made a difference in you?

What if indeed!

So take time for you! Make a difference in your life, now! Right now, take time for you! Without the you being enriched how can you give your best to others? Be kind to yourself today and everyday!

Smile at yourself!

Laugh with yourself!

Be Happy and know that you are a great vessel placed on earth by God to be Great!

Till next time.....Smile and make a difference in you!

Flowing into Friday (The Heart of Our World Part 5) ~ 04/09/10

Happy Friday everyone and yes I posted a little later than usual. The flow of my morning changed the timing a bit and I hope in the future to be on time it just feels better posting early in the morning except for Sunday, which to me is a lazy day for Faith, Family and Friends.

So today is the last in a series of posts about the Heart and Our World. I as usual try to focus on the what we can do and let you the reader decide for yourself if it relates and implement the thoughts into your world.

The post and series was inspired by a friend and co worker and is based on the following scripture I want to repost here.

Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV)

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.

Who can understand it?

That scripture is pretty thought provoking is it not. As a statement by the Bible at face value I believe it to be true. We are of course all directed by free will. We all use our own compass of values and place upon our eyes our own set of focus points directed by the mind and heart. We instruct our hands to either be of service or seclusion. We protect our spirit many times from hurt, some more than others by placing walls around us to ward off any hurt, sadness or pain. Why? Protection, I will go with that. Protection of the heart from pain or possible pain.

But ask yourself this what are you losing out on?

What are you placing at the side of the road as you whisk on by at a higher speed.

Take time to refocus and think about what goes on inside and outside of your heart.

What you allow to pass through into a deeper area and what remains beyond your high walls. What are you losing out on? What have you misplaced unknowingly.

Perhaps the greatest gift of all was given to us from birth, a non directed natural flow of life, born on time, born with free will and no excuses but just to breathe and be nurtured.

We as a society with good intentions mind you mucked it all up by placing rules, rituals, traditions some good, some not so good, in the way of that natural flow of life.

But alas it is not to late to meditate on our future.

It is not to late to refocus on our values.

It is not to late to be of good service and try to make a difference with another less fortunate. Less fortunate in the carry of a smile, the burdens of the heart, or just looking for acceptance.

It is not to late. Your alive, your blessed and your a part of the solution to so many of your problems that is assuming you have more than one like me. Laughing at that statement right now.

Life is and will always be an awesome adventure.

Well placed gratitude, well secured love place and nestled inside of our hearts and spirit.

Faith in God.

Trust in our choices. Belief in our abilities.

So to recap.

Refocus on what is possible.

Direct your intentions to service of another more in need.

Try to look at the big picture of life.

Lastly trust in the values, your values of the heart!

May you all be blessed, loved, cherished and full of joy and gratitude not just for today.

But for life!

Till next time.....and every time..... Smile! Don't forget to share one along the way!
