A Thought on Thursday ~ 04/29/10

Happy Thursday everyone and yes the month of May is almost here. The April showers and snow in some areas of New England has come and gone and the warming effect of May is right around the corner.

May has special meaning for me. My son and daughter were both born in the month of May.

Tori on the 15th and Troy Daniel on the 31st.

Tori turns 16 this year wow how the time has flown.

Troy turns 13 and equally he has grown rapidly. I love them both dearly.

Children on of the most precious gifts and how time flies by for all of us. Troy lives in Houston with my ex wife and it has been hard to watch him grow with out me. He knows my love is strong for him and neither of us knows what future holds for either of us. But I know he is very smart, both in the books and life. He is a great kid.

Tori lives here with me and she is also very smart, she also is very compassionate and has a heart of gold. She is a great friend to her close friends and always kind to others. She loves her music and her Ipod.

Both great kids.

We all have watched our children grow, some much older of course with kids of their own.

They live our nest, travel some far away to settle and build a nest of their own. We love them as if they were still a small child but they have grown and settled into a new life.

We still can turn back the tapes in our mind, remember the smiles, the laughter and the joy. They brought some tears to our eyes, and I am sure like my own two they brought some scares as well. Both have had their shares of broken bones and stitches.

Life goes on and so do they. With in our hearts and minds the memories will always stay and warm us. How time flies by.

So today as the month of April closes and soon passes us by, take time to remember and enjoy the moments of parenting. Not all parenting is easy of course but all has its rewards.

Some parenting is painful of course but we know that our child and their happiness is what matters the most. Even when we are apart from our children whether they are close by or far away our love and their love for us remains. As they grow older as we do that becomes more apparent to them and the greatest gift in the world comes with the words 'How did you do it?' or the simple words 'Thank you'.

Nothing in life that is worth while is easy. Thats the way it always goes easy is boring and mundane, we thing we want easy but in reality we never do.

Till next time......smile and share that smile

with the ones you love.
