A Month of Joy ~ Hope and Giving ~ 2020 leaves our sight but never forgotten

 A quick update on me first, this is day 2 no big changes either way, extreme fatigue remains.  No smell or taste remains and no appetite to speak of.  Very frustrating I tried very hard to stay safe, masked up, washed hands, kept distance.  I would imagine everyone has tried hard to prevent this. The first week they say is the toughest, I thank you for your prayers.

A Month of Joy ~ Hope and Giving ~ A new motto and a new reality

 On a personal note  last night I spent nearly 6 hours at an ER here.  I left work early and drove to get checked early symptoms hard to swallow, excess nasal drainage, a headache and neck pain. 

Ten minutes later I was at the triage at the hospital and had a temp of 101.7 and high BP.  I sat and waited two hours and 45 min to be seen. I had to beg for swab test because the hospital policy is not to give one in the ER. 

 This is America. 

 I was told the CEO/President name sounds like a pasta or pizza won't allow it.  

That is poor policy and a limiting process for people who support their network that is global and had huge profits.

  Now I was discharged and I did get the swab test.  So thats a good things and yes I got it in the ER.  

So much for mr pizza or pasta guy. 

But it is a shame that an American hospital would deny with all the case history multiple deficiencies and all the symptoms a simple procedure.  Yes persistence and a text message to a local radio station made it happen. So today I am in quarantine under blankets with a O2 sensor on my finger no taste no smell and no appetite. Prayers please and thanks.

 We can't control the crazy outside the norm thinkers we can wear a mask we can take this serious and we can demand better of ourselves and those we touch. 

I hate to write or blog about anything political or controversial.  I would much rather share a smile, raise awareness and I hope that is what this does.  Not because I share smiles and write everyday uplifting messages but because life matters, we matter, right matters, hate and division does not have a place in your heart my heart.

Goodbye 2020 ~ it has been unreal but your time is soon done.

Less than 5 days as of this writing

A year of incredible loss of life the most ever, look it up.  A year of unexpected news and longest game of 'bingo' where everyday a new event filled in which a day before didn't seem possible.

But alas hope chimes in and along the road we travel 2021 is almost here.  I know it will not be that different right away just a new year in the same old period of uncertainty.

Something happens to the human spirit when New Years day arrives.  Promises made to ourselves about weight loss or other bad habits are soon forgotten before the month ends.

Something happens to the human spirit on January 01.  Eyes raise up in expectation and joy even for the moment happens maybe because of the alcohol or indulgence of food mostly because we earned this moment. We are entitled especially after 2020, hard to argue this comment.

So we pass on and shove the 2020 out of the way and embrace 2021.  Ask any black jack player 21 is a good hand to hold.  Even the dealer says this is so.  Personally I love 21.

So hug this moment, love the possibility of kindness and love and share this week of anticipation and welcome 2021.

Also called 'offering day ' 

Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated the day after Christmas Day,  thus being the second day of Christmas.  Though it originated as a holiday to give gifts to the poor, today Boxing Day is primarily known as a shopping holiday.

Back to the needy, the poor and the less fortunate.

Not just returns to the store for unwanted items but a return to kindness.  What a unique thought.

Merry Christmas ~ The season with plenty of reason for hope, belief and love.  The day with images a plenty. Smells that resonate and sounds of laughter and incredible joy.  Wrapping paper torn and collected .  Bows on heads for laughter alone gives this day found in our homes.

Tomorrow will come but the hope, belief and love needs to remain.

The labels we have seen in the past need to be discarded

Healing needs to begin and wounds healed

It will take time for sure to narrow the divide but we must come together just as we have for hundreds of years.

We are greater than a cause, the only cause that must matter is the human cause.  With love and with sincerity.

Reach out and share your hope and belief and love.

 Giving and receiving is often the major theme at the holidays.  We ponder will they like the gift we gave, we anticipate the tearing of wrapping paper, the retrieval of waste.  The food how it will taste the presentation of the plate.  But will we remember the senses of the season.  May this be a plentiful project for us all.
