Calling upon contentment 01/27/2014

“If men only felt about death as they do about sleep, all terrors would cease. . . Men sleep contentedly, assured that they will wake the following morning. They should feel the same about their lives.”
― Richard MathesonWhat Dreams May Come

A tendency among many is that we have that positive outlook and even the belief that we can and will reach our set outlook, however we keep changing or moving the bar and never seem content.

You can even have gratitude and still lack in the skill of being and feeling present in the now and lack feeling contentment.

Why? Better yet to fix this we don't need to know the why just the impact on the result of feeling content.

A quote:

Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen, but give us the determination to make the right things happen.

Horace Mann US educator, the first great American advocate of public education, 1796-1859

Wise words indeed.  Give yourself the determination to make the right things happen and don't look upon your short comings as failures but as an education to 'Getting it right' the next time.

Be content with yourself, your efforts and what you have.

Live in the now be present with your spirit and yourself.

Live with the understanding that we all have the same abilities to be happy. We just need to find that happiness in the little things that surround each one of us.

May your day, this day, and this moment be blessed and may your contentment be ever present.

Smiles to you

Thoughts for a Monday 01/20/2014 ~ Believe in Self

“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.”

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888);

Been a long time since I posted anything some prompting from friends and sometimes an inner silent voice that says 'Just do it'.  So for today here I am, sitting at a Starbucks with my favorite coffee.  Onward I type, hoping to inspire, share a smile and maybe just maybe make your day a bit brighter and warmer from the inside out.

I always known that a smile is more powerful than a frown. If you think about it even from birth we had people sharing smiles and making happy faces at us. We learned early that a smile can make another smile and itis very contagious. So years ago I started a web site to make others smile online at he end of this short post I will share it.  It still runs and still gets many visits each day from all over the world.  It is my online smile to anyone that clicks through. I hope you visit it and I hope you smile.

My day job is selling Toyota's at a local dealership.  The past 4 years we have been value priced, meaning we make it simple, transparent and we discount upfront and provide an excellent car buying experience.  The good lord has blessed me and I have been the number one sales guy there 2 years in a row, I am grateful and feel blessed as I just want to serve and honor my guests/clients.  I am off this morning so I am taking the time to share my thoughts and post a smile or two.

So the quote above leads me to my little post, Ms. Alcott shares the simple message that if we look up to are aspirations no matter how high in the sky they are we will not only be warmed by their beauty but we will always be following their lead as our internal compass points in that direction. Not a bad idea right? Not at all.

Set your aspirations high above your normal thoughts. Trust in your inner voice and take time to believe, give thanks for what you have and share that smile with others.  Speaking of that, inner voice make sure  you make time to meditate just for a few time time to turn off the noise and be still, be still and quiet you will feel better for it and the more you practice this the more you will value these quiet moments.

So sending you a smile, sending you warm wishes and hope that your week is a blessed one!
