The first step on the way to victory is to recognize the enemy.
~Corrie Ten Boom
Sometime the enemy is ourselves. Hard to understand why we would ever allow this to happen but think of it - the many times you have sabotaged your dreams, your goals, your relationships. You ran because you feared change or you let the past habits rule your future destiny.
I know I have done this. I feel I am getting better at strategizing my actions and especially my first steps each day.
Self destructive actions and these are just a few
Skipping prayer and spoken gratitude.
Limiting and discouraging self talk.
Ignoring the power of a smile and a empowering affirmation early in the morning mirror.
Skipping breakfast, even when we know it gets our day started right.
Drinking or doing drugs that can harm us from thinking clearly.
Smoking that scars our lungs.
Running from our faith and ignoring what we could accomplish.
Sharing that simple smile early and often in our day.
Ok.....so its more than a few but its important to understand and identify that maybe yes maybe we are guilty of one or more limiting behaviors.
Start with God - the first step in learning is
bowing down to God;
only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning.
~King Solomon
All of the greatest leaders in history have had faith in God. We sometimes put religion ahead of spirituality and cloud the way for others instead of allowing our life, our faith and our love to be a beacon that shines under the clouds and lifts the veil of darkness in their lives.
Be that light, be that example of faith, love, hope and the greatest of these well, you know its love.
Live with out the judgement of others, what do we ever gain by judgement of another. We don't win by dragging and pushing or over powering another in their beliefs and thoughts.
We only cause anger, mistrust, hate, and isolate that person from our true purpose in life which is to assist and help another and at the very least not harm them.
Having hit a wall, the next logical step is not to bang our heads against it.
~Stephen Harper
Seriously why would you want to keep doing the same thing over and over just to get the same result. Stop, it won't help just by wishing it so.
When we bang our head over and over trying to break through that wall we will just achieve a greater head ache, and plenty of bruising.
Don't do it! Stop!
Try to go around the wall, under, over....get a ladder, get some leverage if you must and jump, or at the very least acknowledge the wall and your lack of tools and skill to overcome it and step away.
Step away from the pain of constant failure and pain.
Look at a better path that you may be overlooking.
Stop...Pray....Give thanks......Listen.
Rethink your actions based on your written goals.
I knew someone who said 'I don't have or need goals.' they also said that they live their life and allow it to happen.
They liked that type of life.
They got that type of life.
Nothing wrong with being spontaneous but your spontaneity should not go against your wisdom, your values and should never, must never be allowed to harm another.
Progress however, of the best kind, is comparatively slow.
Great results cannot be achieved at once; and
we must be satisfied to advance in life as we walk,
step by step.
~Samuel Smiles
Allow the ability to focus on your progress to be a daily task.
Don't rush anything.
Don't settle on anything.
Don't run when you know you should walk.
But always move forward.
Life allows us to learn as we go, but we must always focus on those lessons and apply what we have learned to achieve progress.
Progress is the goal.
Love is the way towards any goal.
When we love we empower.
When we hate we regress.
So that is quite simple these words that ask us to recognize the enemy and yes it is self evident that the enemy can be ourselves.
Smile, it does not have to be a bad thing this acknowledgment. In fact it is a very good thing.
The first step and then another towards your success.
We need to smile more to......
So with that, I hope you know that this smile is sent to you : )
Always smiles sent your way !
