A Wish on Wednesday ~02/02/11

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to a new day to smile and share that smile. Second day into this short month and so far we have had wet and mild weather in Pittsburgh, I know most of the country has been blasted by the wintry snow from Texas to Illinois the country has had high winds and snow white out conditions.

Yesterday I heard an interesting comment on the radio on the drive to work. The comment was regarding having a heavy heart or burdens that we carry around with us. Things that weigh on our mind and our spirit and perhaps a way to overcome them.

A way to reframe them into a better view.

Perhaps a more gentle way of allowing them to hang around our psyche.

The statement was about the baggage we tend to carry around us from years of experience and how it can weigh our spirit down. When I think of baggage I think of the big stuff, solid and heavy packed with many points of damage control.

Things that hurt us and we stored away and try to not pay to much attention to as we stroll through life but always is there because we carry them around us. We tend not to let go, how do you let go we wonder?

The comment then became much more compacted as they stated that we carry many stones in our backpack that weigh us down. I liked that for two reasons, its a much smaller backpack and now instead of one solid suitcase we had much smaller simpler stones that we could perhaps manage and slowly rid or change the way we view.

When you read my posts, I try to keep them short to a degree, I try to post a picture, a video or some comments that help to frame my idea or point. So to say I try to simplify them would be accurate. I don't want to talk over people or add needless words to make my articles seem more worthy.

We are a hurried bunch of folks so I try to write with that in mind. However I do want to have you enjoy the post and possibly share them with friends and family.

But to keep this simple I believe that if we view our burdens as smaller stones in a backpack that yes we haul around we have an easier view and can manage these life experiences better.

Here is my idea. If each stone one at a time could be focused upon and reframed as a gratitude stone. A stone that now is viewed as a life lesson instead of a life burden. What a acknowledgment we would make.

Life is full of stories and experiences.

We don't always like the way the story ends or goes along but the flow goes with our wishes or without our approval.

We might as well frame them and be grateful for them regardless of what their outcome because they teach us. We should learn from them and be grateful that we have life in our heart and soul to understand and discern them.

My wish for you is that your backpack of stones

that you carry around not be a burden or inconvenience

but a bag of gratitude stones that we can learn

from and share with our future.

They have built us, shaped us but we should

not let those stones slow us down. Not today or ever.

My Wednesday wish for you this day.

May your smiles abound.

May your joy lift another spirit.

May you stay hungry and stay foolish!

May your heart be warmed because it always was.

Some thoughts on sharing a smile, your smile with so many who come within your circle of influence.

Till next time....share a smile, make a dream come true and make someone's else a bit happier.
