One Can Make A Difference Part 4 of 6 10/27/2010

Happy Wednesday everyone! Yes another trip around the sun for me. Turned 48 today wow how the years rush by. But I do have three great years of my life, 1994 when my daughter Tori Lynn was born. 1996 when my son Troy Daniel was born. This year 2010 when Janice came back into my life and became my wife. Three great years with more to come of course. It is all in the attitude and opening your mind up for the good that comes our way.

We are continuing with the series 'One Can Make A Difference'.

Please if you have not taken the time to see part one which was on Sunday please click here. It will give you a better idea on our concept.

Today I want to give you my view on Making a Difference and some simple ways to do that. Easy, simple and even some that I have used over and over again in my life.

First a quote to share here:

Never be afraid to do something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark; professionals built the titanic.

~Author Unknown

How often we are afraid to reach out, we don't want to be misunderstood or maybe we feel a sincere simple smile may not be enough. Understand this, sometimes a kind word, or a smile is more than enough. For some people in need a smile maybe the best thing they just got.

Some idea's, simple ones to easily make a difference, many of these I have done.

* give an apple, or a sandwich to a homeless man or woman. Give a smile with it to go. A kind word goes along way as well.

* hold open a door for anyone, just to lighten their load in such a simple way, just may go a long way.

* help someone with a heavy load of groceries into their car or van. This one you just have to watch for. Offer to take their shopping cart. It still is funny that we all go to the store to get our cart (a buggy here in Pittsburgh) and we walk by 3 or 4 on the way in.

* Donate old clothes to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. It will open up some closet space as well.

* Donate Blood, they never have enough and yours just maybe needed.

* Donate Can Goods to the Soup Kitchen or Pantry. The burden on these facilities has grown. The need for monetary or food donations has never been greater.

More to come tomorrow. Just wanted to share a few today.

"Before giving, the mind of the giver is happy; while giving, the mind of the giver is made peaceful; and having given, the mind of the giver is uplifted."

-Buddha -

and

"Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you invest, investigate. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you retire, save. Before you die, give."

-- William A. Ward

A quick video about how simple gestures can make a difference.

Little things really do add up! Enjoy it !

Little steps, little gestures, big difference, a difference you made today!

It all starts with us! It always starts with you.

My mission and my favorite quote on Success:

To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. --- Ralph Waldo Emerson

May your smiles abound.

May your joy lift another spirit.

May you stay hungry and stay foolish!

May your heart be warmed because it always was.

Smiles sent your way this day and always!

Happy Wednesday everyone! : )

Some thoughts on sharing a smile, your smile with so many who come within your circle of influence.

Till next time....share a smile, make a dream come true and make someone's else a bit happier.
