Happy Wednesday to you, I hope this midweek break in the action is welcomed and warm to your soul. This week we started to discuss the heart and the world. I tried to stimulate your thoughts and help to identify what problems in our world stem that stem from our view from the heart.
Monday I started with our focus as the topic. Yesterday it was about having a heart of service face to face with each other and not just behind todays technology.
Today the emphasis is on understanding the 'Big Picture'.
“The trick to forgetting the big picture is to look at everything close up.”
~ Chuck Palahniuk
(American freelance Journalist, Satirist and Novelist. b.1961)
We often focus on what is important to our lives, we often walk by the hurting, or even the down trodden only to get to our next destination however important or unimportant it may be. Sometimes we look at not getting involved as the excuse or we don't want to be patronizing to that other person. We stay safe.
We don't analyze the big picture, meaning we understand the day in and day out demands of work, keeping alive and healthy (sometimes we neglect that), and food on the table, roofs over our head. All important stuff but only when we widen our focus, understand the nightly news is only there to entertain and get ratings (sensationalize the story), are we able to get the news but not dwell on the news.
The big picture is so very important to our future, our world has lost the understand that self indulgence.
“Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values.”
Ayn Rand quotes (Russian born American Writer and Novelist, 1905-1982)

Tomorrow we will look into values a little more, values of the heart. But for today, just try to broaden your focus, look at the big picture. We never seem to have this problem at Christmas, we understand tradition, family, the needy.
What happens to most the others seasons of the year?
Till next time.....smile, step back and broaden your view of the big picture.
