A Thought on Thursday (The Heart of Our World Part 4) ~ 04/08/10

Happy Thursday everyone and my wish as always is that your day is a great one. My thought is always that I make you think a little longer and deeper about taking the time to make a difference in another's life.

Life has an energy and spirit and as Kimberly and her comment put it...oh well let me just share the whole comment:

some times just listening to a person and not saying a word helps. a pat on the back. or just a simple smile... spent the afternoon and evening at the er with my daughter yesterday, there was an older lady looking in her purse for some change to get a soda in the er waiting room, i pulled out the last dollar i had to give to her, the look on her face just released so much pressure from my heart, then she wouldn't take it, but she smiled and couldn't believe that a stranger would do such a kind thing. I didn't say anything but, "if u need it i will be around here for a bit" and i walked away. looking back i could see her just glow with appreciation. not sure if it was me who was touched or her......

Thank you for sharing that Kimberly, it touched me and I know it touched others. That very moment you made a very big difference. On it goes, a life touched.

Values are defines as:

beliefs of a person or social group in which they have an emotional investment (either for or against something);

"he has very conservatives values" as an example.

So as promised I wanted to share my thoughts on the values of the heart. We all have values and values tell people what is good, beneficial, important, useful, beautiful, desirable, appropriate...etc.

Values like the following:

Love ~ Health ~ Wealth ~ Comfort ~ Fun ~ Happiness;

Success ~ Learning ~ Peace ~ Intimacy ~ Adventure ~ Security.

There are so many others that I could list as values. Values like acceptance, clear-mindness.

There are so many more. So of the 12 I listed above how do you rank them in importance.

Values of our life are important but the values of the heart are even more important.

Values that we have lost in America some say and believe.

We put success and money over family time and thrift.

We place impatience over practice.

When we lose key values that make us better we can't help but turn to anger, and frustration to blanket our failures. We don't like to feel weak. But our loss of key values make us weaker as a family and a community.

Living your life and understand what values are important to the recovery of our world.

So I leave you with this quote on the importance of values:

“Living with integrity means: Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships. Asking for what you want and need from others. Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values. Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.”

~Barbara De Angelis

Friday I will try to tie this all together and hopefully one small group can start to focus on making a difference not just in their life but in the life of others.

Till next time......Smile and make a difference for someone it just may mean everything to them.
