A Wish on Wednesday ~ 03/10/10

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope your day is a blessed and productive one.

The half way point of the week is here, over the hump day as some call Wednesday.

Our mantra for the day:

Spring in just 9 days, thats right

9 days away the snow almost out of our sight.

Birds a chirping outside my window

searching for food - flying high and low.

Spring just 9 days away the excitement how it builds,

The work to be done soon begins in the farmers fields.

The sun rises and sets each day and are wishes often go unmet. Are we wishing the right wishes? So many of us wish for that right lottery number to hit, the power ball, mega millions, just hit that jackpot, just once. I get caught up in the power ball fever and excitement sometime. I have to admit though I rarely play it. The odds of winning the dollar would do more for something else I feel.

Others wish for better health, less pain for them selves or others. That wish is a bit more noble. I bit more understood. True pain, chronic pain deserves a break in the action. I pray today for those who suffer, my wish for them is find joy in the small things, give thanks to God above for the gifts all around you. The children at play, the smell of fresh baked bread, the sounds outside your window. My prayers go out for you.

So many wishes, so many dreams yet undeveloped.

This past Monday I posted regarding a message I heard on NPR about The science of gratitude. The message was great, talked about how gratitude in ones life can help not only your state of being but your health. They also spoke of a gratitude letter to someone you want to thank and show appreciation for. Have you given that letter yet.

I remember as a small child getting a not in my lunch box from mom. Sometimes it said I love you. Sometimes just I am proud of you today. That little note hit just at the right time. Those little notes felt good. Find that special person in your life today and leave them a note, on the keyboard of the computer, in their wallet, pocket, front seat of their car. Tell them how much they mean to you. Tell them the love that flows within. Send them that smile straight to their heart.

The message also talked about savoring the moment in life. I wrote a bit about that yesterday.

Today I want to talk about being still and listening to that moment. Yesterday one of the comments I received talked about that moment when the shutter of the camera goes of that moment is frozen for later, to savor and remember when they view it again. What power that camera holds, to bring back that special moment frozen in time.

In the Bible God tells us in Psalms 46 "Be Still and Know that I am God" God is all round you today. Just be still and listen and look in stillness to see him. Enjoy this video its brief but worth the time to serve as a reminder.

Enjoy your day.....be still and listen, look and understand that this is your day!

To be still, to shine, to share, to smile!

Till next time......share that smile with another.

Pass it on!
