Saturday Morning Reflection ~ December 05, 2009

Welcome to the weekend everyone and happy Saturday to all! It is cold here with a slight chance of snow later this afternoon into the evening. So bundle up and enjoy and I wish you all a great Saturday with the family and friends.

Today as part of the reflection I wanted to reflect on Christmas's past. Take a trip back down memory lane, your lane of course and take all the fun times and great memories of the past.

The picture perfect snow falls and the snow flakes falling onto your tongue and face.

The sledding down that perfect hill that now as a grown up looks so short and small but as a kid wow it was like the Wide World of Sports opening as 'the agony of defeat' part.

Those boots and gloves we all soaked from constant exposure to snow how fun that was now we hurry into get warm and dry.

The smell of ham and cloves, potatoes and corn bread. Pie's for desert and lots and lots of nut horns and nut roll. My dad was Croatian and was he a great baker and cook.

The tree, the lights and the manger scene under the tree that played music and lit up.

Those big reflective ornaments blue and red and green that each year one would fall and break but we never seemed to run out.

The anticipation for morning first as a child as you ran to bed the night before and woke early to run and see the presents laid under the tree and stockings filled to the top.

The anticipation now for morning trash bags in had for the onslaught of wrapping paper shredded and camera's popping to record a shot for another trip down memory lane.

Oh the reflection and how fast time does go. As you place another light on the house or ornament on the tree, understand this. Your making memories for your family. Make them crystal clear, full of aroma and sound. Etch into those little minds what Christmas is truly about the birth of baby Jesus and the manger that he was born in.

May you all have a blessed holiday season, full of memories and dad if your watching down over me thank you for the memories.

They rocked!

Till next time......smile and make a difference this holiday season!
