Giving Thanks on Thursday ~ 03/04/10

Good day everyone and happy Thursday everyone. Another day closer to spring, to planting new life, to smelling fresh cool breezes.

Spring without a doubt is on top of most everyones agenda.

So without any delay here is the mantra for today:

Spring in 15 days, the time is rushing by-

snow is melting-

hopes are soaring-

Looking for the return of green grass buried

under piles of snow.

Oh Mr. sunshine melt away, melt away

just make the white stuff go.

This day I give extra thanks and focus on the word gratitude. I am so grateful for your visits each day, your kind comments. It warms my heart to read them. I also give thanks to those who have crossed over to Facebook and friendship requested me there. Thank you. I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about you as well. My facebook link.....

The gratitude in my heart keeps my focus on sharing with you how important the smile can make a difference in someone's day.

The gratitude in my heart also allows me to stay focused on what really makes a difference in my life. Things like love, joy, laughter.

Gratitude in a young child will change their life more than almost anything. A child who grows up with gratitude will pass it on just as a child with hate in their life grows up confused with that emotion and on the cycle goes.

Start your child young, teach the importance of knowing what is good in their lives, help them draw, write post what makes them grateful.

I am very grateful for my children, their attitude their kindness and the simple gift of gratitude will help them grow with so much positive energy. And so it goes.

Thursday, I hope you enjoy this day, I hope you take the time to write down what your grateful for.

A quote on gratitude by John Henry Jowett:

“Gratitude is a vaccine, an antitoxin, and an antiseptic”

Nicely put.....

Till next time.....Smile and live your day with gratitude spelled out clearly.

Some Wit on Wednesday ~03/03/10

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to a warming trend here in Pittsburgh. Yes look forward to 48 degrees on Sunday. How cool is that. Our daily spring mantra:

Spring in 16 days oh the wonder of it all-

the temperatures are rising old man winter starting to fall.

The excitement of warmer rising temps so glad to see.

Soon a planting we all shall be.

With this being the first Wednesday in March lets spring into a little warm weather wit.

Q: What did the thermometer say to the other thermometer?

A: You make my temperature rise.

A city boy was on his first camping trip. He was eating his lunch under a tree when an old-timer came along.

'It smells like rain,' he said to the boy.

The city boy replied, 'They said it was lemonade.'

Who is it that everybody listens to but nobody believes?

The weatherman. (how true is that one)

Why do cowboys always die with their boots on?

So they won't stub their toes when they kick the bucket.

What vegetable can tie your stomach in knots?

String beans.

Two friars are having trouble paying off the belfry, so they open a florist shop.

Everyone wants to buy flowers from the men of God so business is quickly booming.

The florist across town sees a huge drop in sales and asks the two friars to close their shop,

but they refuse.

A month later the florist begs the friars to close because he’s having trouble feeding his family.

Again, they refuse, so the florist hires Hugh McTaggert.

Hugh is the roughest, toughest thug in town and is hired to “persuade” the friars to close.

Hugh asks the friars to close their florist shop.

When they refuse, he threatens to beat the crap out of them and wreck their shop every day they remain open, so they close.

This proves once again that Hugh and only Hugh can prevent florist friars.

Knock, knock

Who's there?

Cows go

Cows go who?

No, silly. Cows go moo!

Thanks it....enjoy your day. A day filled with smiles that stretch out for miles. A day with laughter filled inside your heart. A day filled with joy coming out of your pores. A nice would those hours of today be. It can be, just believe and let the joy enter your heart.

Till next time..... Smile and enjoy the laughter.
