Understanding the what and the who we are is the start. Define your values and align it with principles you wish to follow is part of the design process.
Life's a series of choices, choices shape us. Choices will shape those we care about as well
Step one
Keep the mission statement short, something you can memorize, keep close to your heart and easily share with others. The mission statements is a statement that tells what your about, what your goals for life, values to align with and how you define success.
Step two
Start with the end in mind. What does your mission statement look like with all cylinders firing in unison. What would success look like that aligned with your mission statement.
Think of it this way, visualize your end that was created with your mission statement.
Start with the end in mind as your goal and focus on the steps and values to get you there.
What is important to you?
Who do are you determined to help and design a change for them and those around them?
What values do you hold dear to your mission?
Where do you plan to go along your journey?
From different perspectives, career, spiritual and social, build your journey from different views and perspectives.
Step 3
Brain storm and map out for the rough draft.
Find your words, just write out your most important values, define your principles and start to funnel down and highlight the words that resonate with your vision for your journey. Don't forget the end in mind that you designed and picture. Now allow the words to flow, no limitations. Just your dreams and goals and plans in your vision.
Search for a pattern and meditate on them. Allow your thoughts to flow, no rules just values, principles, action statements and a pathway to your end in mind for your mission.
For you, for others, for those you care about most.
Step 4
Rough draft from step three. Again keep it short but direct. This statement is to map out and help align you with your steps in your personal journey. Your mission, your roadmap to get you to the 'end in mind'. Its not a final mission statement in life. As you grow it will evolve as challenges present themselves and goals are aligned it will evolve.
Thats natural, your values and principles for self and others will remain a framework that will be strengthen but never discarded. Just the methods perhaps will change with new skills, life adjustments, climate changes, cultural changes.
Tomorrow we can share some examples and dig deeper in your mission statement.
Have a great day an start your awesome journey to a better you.
