Today the conversation is on staying focused. So many things can happen that sends us out of focus. Good things, bad things, terrible things. Things of course we can't always control. Most of the things in life we can and like I have written before often our thoughts and actions bring about all those things that happen.
For ever action there is a equal or larger reaction. We also reap what we sow.
Harvest time is all the time.
So if bad things happen to all of us its not what we do its how we do it that will make all the difference.
We will hurt.
We will fail.
We will have bad things happen.
If your not riding a wave in life then surely a wave is about to crash on you.
But we can focus on something other than the hurt. We can learn from our failure and if bad things happen we can react in a way that is productive and advantageous to our mind, body and spirit.
Tools for that reactive moment. Lets cover some here.
Tool # 1 Faith
Faith in God, in your higher power, in the energy and spirit around you that wants you to succeed and be happy. Your are a creation of good and you can overcome anything.
Isaiah 54:17 NLV
No tool that is made to fight against you will do well.
And you will prove wrong every tongue that says you are guilty.
This is the gift given to the servants of the Lord.
I take away their guilt and make them right,” says the Lord.
Tool # 2 Love and Belief of Self
Without love and belief of self we are a hampered and troubled spirit. The number one person in your life is you. Because with out you those you love are with out your gifts that you can share with them.
Love is the most important asset for self.
Belief in self and what you bring to the table has even more impact on your life and actions.
“If you aren't good at loving yourself, you will have a difficult time loving anyone, since you'll resent the time and energy you give another person that you aren't even giving to yourself.”
~ Barbara De Angelis
Tool # 3 Focus and Conviction
To focus and not waiver towards your values and beliefs. To remain strong even if others try to weaken you. To believe that you will succeed even after numerous errors. That is the kind of focus and conviction that one needs to sustain when life's waves get in the way.
Living with integrity means: Not settling for less
than what you know you deserve in your relationships.
Asking for what you want and need from others.
Speaking your truth, even though it might
create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that
are in harmony with your personal values.
Making choices based on what you believe,
and not what others believe.”
~ Barbara De Angelis
Three tools for now. More on the way but if we can practice, and repeat even after a failure or miscue you will see a better focus in your life and in the life of those you love.
Prayers you bet they are a tool and it goes with out saying that with out prayer and praise we have little faith.
Hebrews 11
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
