Saturday Morning Reflection and Projection ~04/09/11

A very happy Saturday to you all!  Welcome to another 86,400 seconds to make a difference.  We can all make a difference in the life of another.

A quote:

"Any time you have an opportunity to
make a difference in this world
and you don't,
then you are wasting your time
on Earth".”

~Roberto Clemente

Roberto Clemente is remembered today as one of the game's best all-round right fielders, with one of the best arms in baseball. Often referred to as "The Great One," Clemente was the first Latin American player elected to the baseball Hall of Fame.

Baseball player. Born on August 18, 1934, in Carolina, Puerto Rico. The son of a sugarcane worker, Roberto Clemente began his professional baseball career just after finishing high school. He signed a deal with the Brooklyn Dodgers and played with their minor league team, the Montreal Royals, for a season. The next year he went to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates and made his major league debut in 1955. Clemente hit his stride as an outfielder and batter in the 1960s. He led the National League in batting four times during this time. Clemente also played in the 1971 World Series. He became the first Hispanic player to reach 3,000 hits, including 240 home runs.

Off the field, Clemente was described as a quiet gentleman. He was proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and stood up for minority rights. Clemente married Vera Zabala in 1963, and they had three sons. He died in a plane crash on December 31, 1972, on his way to bring much needed supplies to survivors of an earthquake in Nicaragua. The next year he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame

Could you say he made a difference in his life?

Could you say he lived with a passion and determination not just for the game but for the human spirit?

Would you say he always 'Stayed Hungry' and in some ways 'Stayed Foolish' and played hard every day of his life.  He played in pain? You bet.  He took a chance to get much needed supplies to a earthquake ravaged country even when others did not. You bet.

So my question to you is in the next 864,000 seconds in the next 10 days what difference will you make? If you like most spend 1/3 of your day sleeping and getting ready then you have about 570,000 seconds.

One thing in life that is constant is time.  It flows like the ocean, into a bay, into a river, into a stream.  It flows and unlike the stream we can't damn it up, stop its flow it just keeps on ticking.

How can we make a difference?

Live Life with Joy, accept nothing else that could harm ourselves or another.

Create an atmosphere of love, forget the petty, the selfishness of self and share your life as if it matters to another, because it will and it does.

Speak only words that build, forget the gossip, the competitive nature of life and speak words that will empower another not send them into a defensive or worse attack stance.

Smile, share that simple sincere smile with those reflective powers that when given comes back. Your smile just may be the gift, the silent gift another needs to breathe easier.

Love everything.  Love life and those creatures and objects that have been shaped and formed by God over the generations to sustain us and help us.  Those things that are shaped and formed to harm us, reject them as you would the pain from stubbing your toe at night.  Put them out of your mind as soon as possible and love what life has to offer you.

Grow and be kind to yourself. Live a life that does no harm to you, speak, kindly of yourself. Smile at yourself, Love yourself.

The things that I mentioned above the six things only the first and the last was about self the other four was about what we can that will help others.

Making a difference, shaping the day and the future with action.

Your actions make all the difference as does your attitude.

It really is not just about you and me

But a bigger picture that we pass by every day
Your greater purpose awaits not just you
But somone who you just may touch in a special way!

May you project these ideas into your day, week, month.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Till next time......Smile!!!   :  )

Stay Hungry ~ Stay Foolish
