Thursday Theory ~03/31/11

Happy Thursday everyone! The last day of March 2011.  Yes indeed a busy month, full of news that at times was mind numbing, both locally and world wide the news came so fast that some stories just seem to pass on by the radar of our minds, beyond comprehension.



Last month I wrote a post on Red Gage about living at 8 and above expectations, on a scale of 1 to 10.  You have all heard that line on a scale of one to ten how are you feeling, doing etc.....


My thought and suggestion (my Thursday Theory) is that we should expect and always strive to be 8 and above!


I also suggested a list of things to do so that we always could lean on them if we are 7 and below.


Here was the first 5 on that list:


 


#1 Smile in that mirror and do some serious self talk about what it truly feels like to be in control of your emotional state.


#2 Play on your mp3 player, ipod or computer your favorite music, not soft and mellow but loud and proud.


#3 Write some, draw some, laugh some, play with play dough some just do something that will take you out of your doll drum into a higher state of joy.


#4 Take a walk out in nature, take deep breath, inhale in through your nose and exhale out through the mouth, hold the intake for 4 and exhale for 6. Do this as you walk!


#5 Should have been number one sorry about that... Pray and give thanks to God for your family and those that are around you that you love.


The next five is as follows and I hope you can proactive them from time to time.


#6  Take time to list those moments in your life when you felt on top of the world. Maybe it was the birth of your children, a moment with a loved one. Take time to sink into that moment, how did it feel that moment? Let it sink back into your front of mind thoughts, a mini vacation in the mind if you will.


#7  Play in the yard, cut some grass, play in the dirt, pull some weeds, take some time even if it is only for a little bit to make some instant gratification memories that you can relieve later in the day and right in the moment.


# 8 Sing, whistle your favorite tune, who cares who is listening, goes along with number 2 but for goodness sake let it loose, let your voice soar to the skies.


# 9 Your favorite list of movies make your top ten that make you feel good, make a date with yourself to get to that later in the day when you have the moment, your worth it. Make that date with some time with your favorite comedy or family movie. Sit back make some popcorn and enjoy it.


#10 Call an old friend, someone you trust, and can listen to you with out making any judgement.  Make sure your friends know that they can all on you when your need them.  A true friend is there in that moment when you just may need them the most.


Top ten things to do when your feeling 7 or under on your scale of 1 to 10.  Make up your mind that 8 and above is where you want to be, should be and must be.


Your family will appreciate it and so will you!
