Happy Friday everyone, welcome to the end of the week and just around this final turn the home stretch the NFL Playoffs is your team in the final 8?
The Steelers is my towns home team of course, and I will be rooting for them, Janice hear team is the New England Patriots and she is a fan of Tom Brady and the rest of the team for sure. Who is your team? If your team is not in the final 8 at the very least we can say we have next year, God willing of course.
So what a week this second week of the new year has become. Last Friday I wrote about Ted Williams the Golden voice of radio.
We now find out that he has been ordered into rehab, after a relapse and all the pressure came down on him.
Many feel that the media over worked the story, too much exposure, some even say that it was a waste giving all that attention to one man.
Oh but how we love a rags to riches story and happy endings. We grew up on these, stories of the glass slippers, clicking our heals together to go home, praying for James Stewart in 'Its a Wonderful Life' and seeing all the money just pour on in. The happy ending is indeed a great way to go.
But, Mr William's story is still being written and God willing his comeback is on its way. Maybe not so glamorous mind you as Hollywood would play it out but just the same being written out.
The ball is in his court, the media and the gentleman who found his story passed the ball to him and made him bring it up the court and even made him shoot. Sure he missed the target and goal sort of speak but he shot it. No practice, no real plan just many, many fans cheering him on. Give him, Ted Williams, aka the Golden Voice that much credit.
There are still plenty of homeless and down and out just waiting not the sideline waiting for their chance for the ball. The overwhelming feeling they must feel, the helplessness of being a captive in their own feelings and addictions. Just waiting for a happy ending to be written for them.
What if one group in each city, looked for that one story. What if they took that one story of a man or woman down and out and over saturated it with love, care, hope and promise? What if they pushed that man or woman to bring the ball up court, and take a shot and hit or miss someone was there to offer some support?
Not a bad plan, do you think?
Just a thought as we flow into the weekend.
Have a great Friday everyone!
Just flowing into Friday with you and sending you a smile along the journey.
May your smiles abound.
May your joy lift another spirit.
May you stay hungry and stay foolish!
May your heart be warmed because it always was.
Smiles sent your way this day and always!
Happy Friday everyone! : )
