Monday Morning Wisdom 11/01/10

Happy Monday and Happy November 1st! A new month, a new set of downs as they say in football. How was your halloween? My daughter, Tori came home with a small candy store last night from a night out with her girlfriends. So orders can be placed by emailing me and I can pack and ship to you. LOL I mean really.

The Steelers lost last night to the Saints 20 - 10 down in New Orleans. The Saints crowds set a record of sorts. Representatives from the Guinness World Records verified that at least 17,777 fans attending Sunday night's game, came in costume, setting a record for the largest gathering of Halloween revelers.

So the crowd won on both accounts.

My Cowboys lost again, sigh, should we start looking to next year Cowboy fans, something inside says yes. New coaching would be a place to start. The team just is flat, slower than the Cowboys of old and a new regime should be put in place. Memo to Jerry Jones, Cowboy owner.

They just don't have the belief that they can win anymore. That is something a coach or manager needs to put in place with inspiration, coaching, discipline.

The need for discipline

Everyone needs discipline. In the Merriam - Webster Online Dictionary it is defined as the following:

Definition of DISCIPLINE

1 punishment

2 obsolete : instruction

3a field of study

4 training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character

5 a control gained by enforcing obedience or order

b orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior

c self-control

6a rule or system of rules governing conduct or activity.

To be trained and have order in conduct, values and behavior is the glue that keeps us all together.

Some quotes on discipline:

“With self-discipline most anything is possible.”

~ Theodore Roosevelt

~~~~~~~
“Self-respect is the fruit of discipline;
the sense of dignity grows
with the ability to say no to oneself.”
~ Abraham J. Herschel
It starts with us of course, it always does. The discipline to govern ourselves before we demand that government governs our country.
Tomorrow is election day and we will all hopefully go to the polls and vote. Vote not just for change but for leadership. Vote not just for eviction of a member of government status but for someone whose values and character is disciplined enough to lead not only a country but himself. We have not always had that in America.
Some corruption and special interest groups who we do not vote into office somehow seem to get in their. How do we vote them out? How does our voice get heard over those with a bigger pocket book, except when its time to pay taxes the loop holes they find and when they pay down the deficit we look out over the masses.
Who gets to right that check?
Just some thoughts pre election day.....
May your smiles abound.
May your joy lift another spirit.
May you stay hungry and stay foolish!
May your heart be warmed because it always was.
Smiles sent your way this day and always!
Happy Sunday everyone! : )
Some thoughts on sharing a smile, your smile with so many who come within your circle of influence.
Till next time....share a smile, make a dream come true and make someone's else a bit happier.
