A Thought on Thursday ~ 06/03/10

Happy Thursday everyone and I hope everyone takes the time to spend a little time for themselves this morning. Often and I know I have said this before we do so much stuff for others that we forget to take time for our self. Its that rush and rush to accomplish but we neglect the person doing all the rushing, the person of self.

Why? The why is not as important of course as the acknowledgment of the problem. Once we can at the very least recognize it then we can alter its course and correct it.

“People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself. But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates.”

Thomas S. Szasz quote

~~~~~
“Why be afraid of what people will say? Those who care about you will say, "Good luck!" and those who care only about themselves will never say anything worth listening to anyway.”
The following more of a story than a quote.
But listen to the message:
Buddha was traveling in the company of several other people. One of the travelers begins to test Buddha by responding to anything he has to say with disparaging, insulting, hurtful remarks.
Every day for the next three days, this traveller keeps verbally abusing Buddha, calling him a fool, arrogantly ridiculing him in any way he can. Finally, after three days of this, the rude traveller can stand it no longer! He asks Buddha, “How can you continue to be so kind and loving when all I’ve done for the last three days is dishonor, offend and try to find ways to hurt you? Each time I try to hurt you, you respond in a kind manner? How can this be?!” The Buddha responded with a question for his fellow traveller,
“If someone offers you a gift, and you do not accept that gift,
to whom does the gift belong?”
I have to say I love the message, no one can offer any statement to you and demand that you accept it as fact. I have used the statement "what other people think of you is really none of your business" prior to this post and it fits within this post as well.
So take time for yourself.
Listen to you spirit when it gets tired and over run.
Take time to think, laugh and cry a little each day.
Take time to enjoy nature and the positive energy that exists just outside your front door.
Take time to pray and meditate each morning as you start your day.
Focus and understand that a happy self is a more productive self.
Enjoy life, smell the fragrance of patience and love.
Love everyone you come in contact with, even if they don't love you back.
Be wary of making spot judgments about anything. What we perceive as truth is often just that our perception not the true reality. Take time to look at the facts closer and try to see another point of view.
When in doubt take care of self in all matters of health and love.
If you have someone who loves you and cares about your back thank God above for that gift and never, ever lose sight of the gift that it truly is.
Just a few thoughts this Thursday and I hope this is
your very best day!
Till next time....share a smile, make a dream come true and make someone's else a bit happier.
