Some Thoughts on a Sunday ~ 03/07/10

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope your Saturday was a great day, a special day with family and friends.

The sun is shining hear and spring is another day closer. Our mantra for spring today:

Spring in 12 days. Count them down 12 days away.

Yes on a calendar and maybe just maybe

another snow storm will fall.

But indeed spring is around the corner,

soil to toil and plants to plant.

Weeds to tend to, grass to cut.

Oh enjoy the toil the labor of it all.

The sun will shine and the snow withdrawal

Often we look at the world with disbelief and wonder why so many people hurt, why so much hate exists. Sometimes is in our own home or family this pain and anger. Why?

A few weeks ago I wrote about the cup we all carry with us, some look at it as half empty, while others can look at it as half full. The fullness of our cup, are we looking at possibilities or is our cup half empty and we only look at the troubles in our life. I also mentioned how some people with out even knowing it try to put some of their problems from their cup into ours, they dump on us, maybe not even on purpose but 'we' let them slow us down. We let them rearrange our thoughts, our feelings, our purpose for that moment. We need to keep our thoughts and feelings in check. Dump out those problems, and if we want try to change their thoughts to a more resourceful and positive way of looking at their problems.

Not always easy, but possible.

I look also at our spirit and our soul as a garden. Lined with endless possibilities. We decide if we want to fence the garden in and stay withdrawn and protective. We can also decide to leave it open and take the chance of people looking at our garden, our world with joy and promise. Yes they may kick and rearrange the pebbles and stones on our path, purposely or just by accident. How do we respond to that, with anger? Hurt? Sadness or just let it go and fix those pebbles and stone in our path. What use is it to get in a tizzy or allow another to change our view of our garden. We don't allow a weed to destroy our garden so we should not allow a thought to destroy our view or image.

Not always easy, but possible.

So today, this week and forever more promise yourself to plan your garden well, your thoughts, don't fence in your world, your possibilities. Allow the sun to warm your garden, and allow God to bless the soil you plant on. Share it your flowers, your plants, your ideals. Enjoy the countless opportunities that God brings to our path each day. Enjoy the endless fruits of your labor, yes life does require labor.

Not always easy, but possible.

Enjoy your Sunday.

And until next time........Smile!
