 To remember those who served is it truly enough?

Should we not honor and serve their sacrifice by being the best for what they protected?  They protected and served our value of freedom. They protected our borders and our interests both here and abroad. They protected our comfortable way of life.  So maybe we should honor and serve by protecting each other here in our country.  To honor and protect those that make up our neighborhoods.  Empathy not sympathy.   Real and honest listening, feeling and sharing.  To those who served thank you and for those who gave all we will never forget.  Let us honor that memory by being the best and doing better.

 If empathy was a memorial what would it depict.  Is it a live and well or just a mere shell of pity and sympathy.  We have shootings in mass all over our great land do we empathize with those who have lost or just get used to the flags at half staff.  Empathy cares and aligns our feelings with others and ensures a call to action is imminent.  Few calls to action have made significant action. So what is the memorial to empathy?

We can stand by or engage

have pity or have faith

There is power in individual change

In teaching the young

Rise up and share kindness, love and be better

In the midst of a storm comes a rainbow

The rainbow give hope and a promise 

We can be that rainbow with a collective action

 Most of humanity starts to look at a challenge and whether its risk vs reward or straight out what's in it for me. (WIFM). We ponder not our role in humanity at time, but our role in our self growth, development and our family and friends.  To look at the world at large we often get lost in the grief and loss and not in the recovery and gain.  Empathy is a small pebble that can cause large ripples when thrown into the universe.  Sharing and caring, heart to heart we, you and me, can and will make a difference.  Often we need to start with us and say are we empathetic with ourselves?  Do we carry our success that we have had into our daily emotional state.  Or do we still deal with insecurities and grief.   Does it matter, you bet.

Love and kindness with ourselves is the first start

Knowing you are enough 

Enough to make a difference every day in so many ways 

To engage with empathy is to show your emotional concern

Concern for another shows leadership for another

In the home, or out in the world Empathy can and will make a difference

 Challenging times we are in not just recently of course since man became territorial.  When we drew up borders, discerned and concerned over the color of skin.  We forgot God our creator and spew man made feelings that divided, disliked, hated and far from created kindness or love.  Why?  How did we get here.  Not blog or explanation can answer that question of course but perhaps one word could mend, heal, connect and start the process of closing the divide of fear and hate.

Imagine that

A little child but in these days  it could be a bigger child

We need to seek to understand

To listen to the rhetoric

To emphasize with our customer, team members

To listen and hear our family and to seek to understand 

To share their feelings and bring them to common ground

Even if the common ground is humanity, love, kindness and respect

Loving

Embracing

Growing with honor and respecting our creator through our actions
