O Captain, My Captain
Written 1865 by Walt Whitman
A poem of both relief and grief, it was written about the death of Abraham Lincoln.
Tough times with over 618, 222 men killed in the Civil war.
2% of the population at the time
The deadliest war ever.
O Captain my Captain, may we never have to live this era again.
Rise up and share a smile, a kind word,
these efforts will go an extra mile.
