Welcome to part three of our series on Gratitude Attitude. Sharing with you what can be a reality, if we choose. Sharing this with you is exactly the intention of this series. For now of course it is just a vision and a vision without action is just some thoughts that are soon forgotten.
It is the intention to inspire your thoughts, to create that action within your life. Then enable you and of course give to you the power to pass it on, pay it forward and teach another for the future generations, the power of the Gratitude Attitude
We talked about the problem and the old way of thinking that in many ways keeps us from having that Gratitude Attitude. It also keeps us from being the best we can be. Today the discussion moves into the paradigm shift and the process that allows us to understand.
The paradigm shift that takes us to gratitude attitude
First off what is the term paradigm shift really mean anyway?
Think of a Paradigm Shift as a change from one way of thinking to another. It's a revolution, a transformation, a sort of metamorphosis.
It just does not happen, but rather it is driven by agents of change.
In the past few days I spoke about all of the generational changes we have faced over the last 90 years. But to say we can wait for another 20 years or even 10 years would be a shame once we get the gratitude attitude concept. It would really be silly if not lazy that once we get it to keep doing the old way of thinking over and over again and get the same silly and hurtful responses for ourselves and for others.
The agents of change are easy to expose. Higher levels of stress, increased moments of depression, hurtful anger directed to those we love, decreased productivity at work, the list could go on and on.
The true change agent is our realization that something must change and change now.
Some quotes about change:
Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.
~Arnold Bennett
***
Change before you have to.
~Jack Welch
**
He that will not apply new remedies must expect new evils;
for time is the greatest innovator.
~Francis Bacon
How true all of these play into this subject. Gratitude is the feeling and secure knowledge that what we have right now, the happiness and joy and comfort that we are loved is enough. Not more money, not less time with family or those you are about but being convinced that what we do to share love, share a kind word or deed is of more importance in life than the sum of any individual effort to become more.
A better father, a better husband.
A better mother or a better wife.
A better teacher or a mentor to help those in need.
And to look back with calm and quiet reflection and know that we have made a difference with just what we were created with.
Two eyes to see, two arms to hold, two hands to grasp and two ears to listen. One mind to recall how great our God is. One voice to repeat that the love that we have and the spirit that we share is not only good but great in our possession and we just want to share it.
That is the knowledge and the shift we need to recall on a more daily basis and that is how we can stop the pain, stop the sadness and the despair and climb aboard a more sturdy ship of kind.
All aboard? You in? No really you in?
Then come back tomorrow and lets discuss the plans to 'Put it all in play' and then the last day of this series we will talk about 'Moving On' from here and some resources to share. But for now......
These smiles are sent to you across the miles! Have a great day everyone!
