Sunday Prayer and Sunday Thoughts ~01/30/2011

Happy Sunday to you all hope your day is full of praise, gratitude and family. Smiles that flow easily from joy is my wish for everyone. That they understand the power of the smile on another is my message to those that read my daily posts.

Sunday is a day to worship and give thanks, to share with family and those we care about to rest and recharge for the upcoming week.

I hope you get to do all of these and I hope you take time to pray for some hurting issues in the world today.

A senseless act in Tampa, Florida. Mother of 2 teenagers murders both with a .38 caliber revolver. Leaves a note and sits on the back porch waiting for local police to find her in slippers in a robe, the robe covered in blood. The motive the children were mouthy.

To try to understand is tough, to try to imagine the hurt the community and family and those close to Calyx the daughter at age 16, and Beau, her son, age 13 must feel. Empty, confused, and dazed.

The mother, Julie Schenecker, by all accounts was a good mother, great upbringing, friendly and part of the circle of friends in the community. Her pictures now show a woman over the edge with mental anguish coming not pouring out of her body. Tormented her spirit and mental disturbance is the only way to explain how a mother could kill her children without warning. The story is still unfolding but prayers are needed for those that surround this horrific outcome.

A country in free fall, a people filled with anger and civil unrest. My second prayer request is for the region around Egypt and the country itself. A very fragile condition that is putting the whole middle east region in peril. Pray for wisdom and peace as this area becomes even more volatile.

Two stories that take away a smile and joy. Only prayer and turning it over to those who can make a difference on the ground at both locations. Prayer for leadership, for wisdom and for humanity to flow through these people and places.

Thats my Sunday thoughts and Sunday prayers. Being a father I can 't even imagine this happening in relationship to the story of the two teenagers. The realization that two young lives are gone because of a mental illness, or lack of connection to reality it so hard to fathom. So very hard to understand. I only believe that someone anyone with a sense of connection to the mother could of slowed things down for her. Maybe a kind word, or a shoulder lent and and ear given would have atlas enabled help to be sent in their direction.

Maybe.... Maybe not.

A sigh, a deep breath and a prayer sent up to the heavens. I ask you for the same.

May your Sunday be filled with grace and joy, peace and promise, prayer and worship.

That is my Sunday Thought and Sunday Prayer.

God Bless you and Till next time......Smile!!! : )
