Monday Mojo Mantra ~01/17/11

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to a new week! A week that Pittsburgh will be in high gear with high emotions as we have another home game next Sunday.

I know it seems hard to fathom that the New York Jets kicked butt yesterday against the high powered New England Patriots but hey they did. The sixth seed Jets, did quite a bit of trash talking early in the week but they covered the check by stopping the Tom Brady offense and scoring on offense when they had to score.

The other game the Seattle Seahawks lost quite convincingly to the Bears. The Chicago Bears will host the Green Bay Packers next Sunday and the winner will go on to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl in Dallas. Ooops....sorry the Steelers do have to beat the New York Jets next week so, I know, I know I got ahead of my self. Sorry. LOL : )

So the Monday Mojo Mantra for today is very relative to this weekends playoff victories.

Focus on what you can do today, right now is everything and the only thing relevant to accomplishment of your goal.

So many times we drift off and try to anticipate what will happen instead of just making it happen. We hope that the goal will somehow read our mind and just happen because we will it so or because it seems fair.

Like fairness really matters to reality. It never will matter, only we can overcome failure and it is not because something was fair or unfair that causes us to fail.

A quote on fairness:

I know the world isn't fair, but

why isn't it ever unfair in my favor?

~ Bill Watterson

Have you ever felt like that quote, I know I have but seldom do those who are truly successful or prepared focused on the world being fair with them.

The team or the individual who plays through adversity comes out many times with the victory in the end.

That is the way life is. Bad things do happen to good people, but sometimes good can come out of it.

Take the final gift that the little girl Christina Green the nine year old who was fatally shot in the Tucson, Arizona murders. The world cried and mourned but out of tragedy comes good as an organ donation from her helped a family in the Boston area. How proud the family must be that even with a tragedy their daughter was able to touch so many people and hopefully change lives.

I close with this quote that we all should think upon the next time we think something was not fair or something bad just happened.

The quote:

In the final analysis, the questions of why

bad things happen to good people transmutes itself into

some very different questions, no longer asking why

something happened, but asking how we

will respond, what we intend to do now that it happened.

~Harold S. Kushner
