Happy Monday everyone, a new day, a new week and the very last week of 2010. May you this week design a 2011 that is joyous, enriching and empowering for those around you. Those that you love, and those that you just seem to make a difference for each and every day.
I had the chance to DVR the CNN Heroes and had a chance to watch it last night, if you get the chance take some time to click on the link above to visit the CNN site.
It showcases ordinary people that at stop design process in their life saw and visioned a better way and fed that need with determination, and dedication. Awesome people who make a difference each and every step that they take.
It is a new day, Monday and for me it is back to work. My daughter is visiting her mom in Houston, TX and Janice has her son, Blake here for the week. Both kids are awesome and they enrich so much just by the love and concern that they show each and everyday. It will be a great week here and I hope the week is awesome for you and your family as well.
This week of course I will try to share with you little nuggets of thought that may just get you to think and allow your creative process to be designed for a better 2011. It is up to you the reader to sift through the words to find what may work for you and for what might lend some aid in making your year, this year coming up the best it can and could be for you and those around you.
2010 was indeed a very challenging year for many, everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong for many, unemployment, lack of funds, health problems due to stress factors. Many areas that were weakened but it can be changed.
My thought today is on the phrase:
Live by design not default
How many times in your life have you taken the wheel of your car and taken that trip home only to drive by habit and remember little how you got to your destination? It happens, you think of the day ahead or the day past and you focus on that and drive by default. It can be an eye opener once you realized it happened.
Another default you pick up that paper cylinder, light the end and inhale nicotine and other harmful Carcinogens and allow that to design your future instead of the muscle mass between your ears.
Maybe you pick up that extra doughnut or danish at breakfast instead of something more healthy and then eat late at night and wonder why your having a hard time sleeping and why you added 5 more pounds to an already overweight frame you call your temple.
These example are living by default, and yes it is your fault, not anyone else's that you accept that way of life. I can look in the mirror on a couple of these. So I am not saying that I don't have my faults or poor design traits. I do.
I write what comes to the keyboard, my fingers are nothing more than extensions pounding away at the computer thoughts that flow faster than I can think them. Many times I feel that way, but what I type inspires me many times and I hope you can sift through the words, (spelling is not always on point) and take what makes sense and build upon that.
The CNN Heroes last night do not live by default to accomplish the tasks that they have been inspired to create. They design and focus and create a way that helps others live better, safer and more productive lives. They feed, clothe and build a better way for so many just to have them honored for a couple hours hardly seems enough.
Design your life.
Create your mojo.
Build your temple, your home with love and concern.
Show others the light that shines warmly from your heart to theirs.
The light and warmth of a simple sincere smile. Let it shine.
