Flowing into Friday ~12/31/2010

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to the very last day of the new year! All the best to you and your family for the upcoming season. You have much to be grateful for you made it another year, alive, with those you love and you get to share all of this more quickly on social sites like Gather.com and Facebook.com. How fun has that been?

A couple quotes I want to share with you today:

Dream as if you'll live forever.

Live as if you'll die today.

~James Dean

"Each morning when I open my eyes

I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.

I can choose which it shall be.

Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet.

I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."

~Groucho Marx

What resolve will you have when you open your eyes on the 1st day of a new year?

What resolve will be still with you when you open your eyes on the days that follow?

What goals would you have planned? What visualization will you have made to make these goals and dreams become real in your mind?

What plans have you made for yourself and those around you to make this year 2011 even better for you and them?

Five questions my friend, make the most of the answers that you give yourself.

The last few Fridays I have shared with you a few steps to a better 2011. I hope you find time to review them and try them one at a time this coming year.

For you I list them here again:

Step One ~ If you have not already started please consider a gratitude journal for the new year. Write in it 2 to 3 times a week what your grateful for and share with yourself the expression of gratitude on a consistent basis and watch the effects in 90 to 120 days.

Step Two ~ Take notice to the self talk that you give yourself when you look in the mirror, come across adversity or plan out your dreams. What words do you share with your mind. What words flow out into the world? What words could you say and share that would be better for your 2011? Positive thoughts and words bring positive results, you already know the alternative.

Step Three ~ Start now with your goals, write them down and align them with your values, don't let anyone or anything stop you from trusting in both. Goals are the prescription for future success and values define the person that you are and want to be.

Step Four ~ Dream, dream big! Don't let the focus of your thoughts turn to cold hearted reality. No dream is to big and the only dream that never comes true is the one never dreamt.

Step Five ~ Do not allow others to define your dreams or the results of dreams that you have aligned for yourself. When you focus on failure or the results of past efforts that have not turned out, your limiting yourself.

Step Six ~ Don't quit, the failure is nothing more than an educated action taken that didn't get you the result you wanted.

Keep your head up, your ears and heart open and listen to your instincts.
So many people quit just before the break through. Follow your dream, plan your action steps, and flow your mind in a positive never ending way.

Step Seven ~ Review your steps and your results. Review your dream, your written goal, your action steps, the results you have achieved, your failures that are not failures just an education. Review your steps that you have placed and push on, don't quit and don't stop believing.

Step eight ~ Everything you need to be a better and improved contributor is within you right now.

The check up from the head up is crucial here.

We choose again to control our mouth and voice, often we speak to soon, or to often. Let the nature of the world sink in to our thought process before we jump to conclusions. Seldom is a decision so desperate that we need to make it before some thought or more factual assessment.

Step nine ~ Decide to Act Now. Sounds simple right, we can buy a gratitude journal or create one but if we never use it or seldom reflect on it we have another notebook plain and simple. We can listen to the self talk over and over belittle us and know that it is harmful but if we decide to let it continue without much fore thought it will continue to harm
Those are just the first two steps that we need to decide to act now. The other six that come after it will make a difference in our lives if we only decide to act with mindful intent and resolve that we choose to never again live a sub standard life.
It all begins with you.

Step Ten ~ Control what enters your body. Garbage in can only give garbage out. Whether we are talking about computers or a trash can it means the same when we are talking about our stomach with food, our lungs with nicotine or tobacco or our liver with alcohol.

When we put that garbage in the natural order of things will take over and we will put garbage out.

Whether it is the reflection in the mirror, the cough or wheeze at our next breath or the hangover and toxic levels within after drinking too much. We will reap what we sowed.

So why do we do it when we hate the result from the intake?

Good question, pleasure vs. pain I'm sure more pleasure in eating than the long term painful effects that are surely coming. Reflect on that question the next time your jeans are too tight or the shirt is not fitting right. Control what enters your body and know that your in charge.

A video to share and the very best to you and yours
this New Years Eve!
