Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to the halfway point of the work week. For some this day is more important than other days because they are that much closer to Friday and the weekend. But for some its just another day of joy, happiness and praise for all the good in their life. Which is better you think, to be balanced and steady minded all week long or to allow your mood to fluctuate based on the day of the week? Something to think about and work towards, don't you think?
I often think about what a wonderful melting pot we have in America, a mix of people of different races, ethnic backgrounds, religion, and social status. Considering all of this we have so much tradition based on these differences.
Tradition is so important to the soul and spirit of joy and happiness. It gives us all that foundation and a sense of stability even in a changing world of technology and world crisis that befalls all of us from time to time. Tradition gives us hope that all can be good and stable once more, we just need to pull it all together.
A quote that I wish we all could embrace:
In a world of prayer, we are all equal in the sense that each of us is a unique person, with a unique perspective on the world, a member of a class of one.
~W. H. Auden
Prayer is one tradition that goes back so many generations. Prayer it has been said is when we talk to God and ask or express our thoughts, needs and gratitude. But a more important part of prayer is to be silent and still and just listen or meditate and allow God to speak to our spirit. We need this part of prayer even more because in a world of rush here, rush there and accept this and approve that we often lose touch with just being still and silent and listen to God and nature.
We are just one class, not rich, not poor not middle just a class of the human race.
We are just one nation that if we could just embrace the thought of we are all in this together and together we can overcome any obstacle that is before us. But together we can stand united against all unfortunate events that befall us.
This week take time to listen and meditate and be still just so still to hear your inner spirit reflect the days or weeks events. Just listen and allow that stillness of nature, the wind, the rain, the warmth of the sun to embrace your body and soul.
A couple thoughts for today:
"The sound of 'gentle stillness' after all the thunder and wind have passed
will be the ultimate Word from God."
~ Jim Elliot
and
“Be still, and know that I am God”
~Psalm 46:10
Enjoy your Wednesday and allow for some quiet and stillness in your day.
Till next time....share a smile, make a dream come true and make someone's else a bit happier.
