Some Thoughts on a Sunday ~ 07/18/10

Happy Sunday to you all!  I hope your weekend is a great one and I hope today you get to relax and enjoy the warm weather.  Often we work so hard on tasks and our daily chores that we often forget that we need to relax and rest.  Thats what Sunday can be all about only if we allow it to be.

For sure Sunday is a day to worship and give thanks to our creator for the very gifts that we get to enjoy.  We also get to enjoy lunch or dinner with our family or friends often on Sunday and get to get caught up on the week just past and the plans for next week. But do we get to relax and rest?

What is your Sunday Best?

For me the best thing about Sunday is that first sip of coffee outside, sitting with Janice and listening really listening to nature.

 

Its helping prepare a Sunday brunch for the kids, complete with pancakes, blueberry is my favorite.  A generous portion of bacon and a side plate of corn beef hash another favorite of mine.  Eggs, sunny side up thank you and toast so hot that the butter just melts on contact.  A tall glass of lemonade and the company of my children and Janice to enjoy each tasty bite.

Thats about to happen right now at my house.  My Sunday best!

Later some quiet hammock time in the shade, maybe I will cut the grass, no promises on that one.  Relax and unwind for the week ahead.

A bon fire out side watched over and controlled to burn off some dead wood another strong possibility for this Sunday.  Marshmallows and chocolate on graham crackers all gooey and chewy.  Yeah a very strong possibility.

My Sunday Best!  What about yours?

A Sunday drive with the family, yeah might do that.....  A great day to spend just with loved ones and nature.  So quiet, so relaxing, so peaceful.

Bacon is starting to sizzle I hear it not to far away my cue to get to the kitchen and help with My Sunday Best!

Saturday Morning Reflection ~ 07/17/10

Welcome to Saturday!  A great day to enjoy time with your family and friends.  A day to show others the light that you carry within your soul. The light of gratitude, and the light given by your smile.

Make some memories today. Share and reflect upon this day, make a difference by the way you talk, the way you walk and maybe just maybe another will want a little of what you have deep inside that just comes pouring out.

 

The smile, your smile can have a great impact on many.  It starts with the impact that it has on you as you walk through life.  It never really ends the impact from a smile.

It replicates itself on and on and on it goes.

Saturday I take the time to share a post from the past.  To keep with the topic of the smile a post from  April 09, 2009.

Make someone smile.....Today!

Your mission should you choose to accept it.

Little things we do matter, they leave a mark in the mind of others.  On the "Our Mission" page I published within it a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson regarding success.

The last part reads -- "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.  This is to have succeeded", what a statement. Easy way to make your mark don't you think.

We interact daily with people our coworkers, our customer's, and complete strangers as we pass by on the way to our next task. It is so easy to smile and you don't really even know the impact it may have on another.

Last week I went to a bakery purchased 3 pastries, chocolate éclair I think, and had them write with yellow icing "Smile".  I shared our mission on the way and the project and paid the $8 and went on my way.  I took them into work that day and shared them with a few coworkers and just watched.  A simple act and watched as they smiled and enjoyed. Success, for those few minutes they lit up, and my little mission, accomplished.

PS. the lady at the bakery counter smiled too.

So with that it comes down to our next power action thought for the day:

Number 45--Do the unexpected not for any reason just because.

Watch the result and know you have just succeeded. You made another smile, lifted a spirit and changed a moment. You just made your mark on that minute of that day.

This is not rocket science and yes it takes a little effort, but doesn't anything worthwhile.

Today is your day, should you choose to accept this mission you will be rewarded.
