Prayers of Gratitude

Just a sincere Thank You twice a day

This post is about a simple observation about human nature, gratitude and our desire many times for "more".

From birth we are curious creatures, in the womb it is said that the baby reacts to outside sounds and senses the overall nature of that outside world.

Birth comes and a cry comes out that announces to the room, I am here, ready or not.
A change of venue as the baby reaches out into his/her new world.

The opening of the eyes and the soon crawling baby brings curiosity to its own world including sound, objects noticed and arms outreached for mom and dad's love.

The next years include crawling, to walking gingerly, to walking with confidence. Full of wonder and curiosity the young strives to find its own way in the security of parents eyes and supervision.

School brings more education and experience and the word "NO" or "Don't touch that" has been experienced by now thousands of times which increases curiosity and wonder.

So that brief explanation to maybe elementary years brings about why we seem to want more.  More food, more drink, more time awake to see what is all going on around us.

When you are a little one naps are plentiful, as we get older the nap is yearned for more than we can grasp. LOL.

So we yearn for more, from an early age, brief word here, it continues.

So what if we taught how to be grateful and thankful earlier and often to those little eyes and ears. What if we taught and encouraged that what we have around us is enough.

What if?

What if we taught a simple prayer to God that we are thankful for God's giving.

What if we taught a simple prayer for each and every morning and evening.

Many of the worlds religions teach that God will not give us more than we can handle and God will not give us something we are not ready for.

So if we pray those simple and concise prayers of gratitude we will never feel want.

Think of that it is taught that God is able.
So let God be able and be grateful ourselves for what we have.

In adversity we learn, we adapt, we make the most of what we have.
In abundance we learn, we adapt, we make the most of what we have,

But the lessons are clearly more informative and teaching in times of adversity.

So embrace it all, be thankful for it all.  Be joyous for the chance to experience it all.

Embrace always, smile forever and share united.
